Impressive week, Mark! Remember to keep a tight grip on the reins as you ease back into it.
Glad to see you back at it, Michele. Was worried I wouldn't have my 3:30 partner ( Wink ) in Boston.

T - 40min recovery in DC; just laps on the track, for the most part

Th - 60min easy

S - Birthday = OFF!
S - 45min recovery w/ 4x 10sec hill-sprints to close it off

Nice week! That's an awesome back-to-back weekend. Must say that I don't miss walk/hike/shuffling up those steep-ass hills while ultra training, though.

I am really not in a good mood to talk about this.

Alright, since you asked.

I was in this race only because a friend came from out of town and wanted a race. He has a 3:13 marathon PR. A perfect cold race day around 40. I was in my running pant and wind breaker in the corral and told him: I will draft you in the first 6 miles, then let's see how long you can draft me. lol!

So I caught up to him before mile 2 around 6:30 pace and told him: I think I'd better go back to check Charles.

Charles was running his first 15k.

I took some walk, ran back to Charles and paced him for a 1:18:44.

What a nice person Jerry was!

Don is crazy.

My week was good except I skipped a run due to a weekend in Vegas. Damn you Vegas and all your fun...damn you.

Mon: 8 easy + 10 hill sprints

Tue: 10 w/ 4 * 1 mile on the mill @ 6:00 pace/1% incline, 3 min recoveries at 7:47 pace. Never stepped off the treadmill once. (I've never been able to do this workout on the treadmill before; I was pretty pumped)

Wed: 12.5 easy/moderate

Thur: 7 easy

Fri: 10 (3 easy, 4 hard, 3 easy)

Sat: Off (Vegas baby!)

Sun: 4 easy AM; 15 PM (1 hour easy; 15 * 1 min moderate / hard, 1 min easy; 20 min easy)

Week: Not enough

Not the greatest week, but the best I could muster. Hopefully the reduced mileage gets me back on track soon.

Mon - off: X-ray = negative

Tue - 3

Wed - 7

Thu - 6 with strides

Fri - 5 hurt like hell, strides might have been a mistake

Sat - 0

Sun - 14 -- first 5 felt good

36 for the week. First time below 60 in what feels like forever. The 14 was encouraging. We'll see what happens this week.

I was much more conservative than you in taking two complete weeks off. I've been running normally the past 10 days with zero pain. It seems to be totally healed!

Getting the miles back. Hopeful of being back to 70 after this week.

Mon: 6 miles @ 6:25 (last 3 6:11, 6:11, 6:03)
Tue: 8.1 @ 7:18
Wed: 8.3 @ 6:57
Thu: 9 @ 7:03

Sat: 10.5 @ 7:00
Sun: 9.3 easy

I'm being more aggressive due to the nearness of BOS or I would take more time off. Trying to find that right balance of rest/healing and not losing my conditioning. I really don't want to go backwards at this point. So I will guess my way thru this and trust how I feel. Hope I don't guess wrong.
