Major bummer. After his sub-13 and sub-27 races, he was putting himself into position for medal contention. The injury he suffered and subsequent surgery sounds intense.

Wow, my only comment is ouch. I think I remember reading about that when he did it and was amazed that you can do that just by running with no other outside force causing the damage. Again, ouch!

Glad he made the call now. Now the pressure is off and he can focus on getting healthy again and look forward to the next World Championships.

What a shame! A Rupp-Solinsky battle would have been fun to watch.

But ripping the hamstrings clean off the pelvis? Dang. I hope he can come back from that.
