A busy time at the Moman House!

Post  charles.moman on Sun May 06, 2012 7:10 am

It has been busy at my house.
We decided that three maples had to go - two were very old and falling apart.
One had done damage to the blacktop driveway too.
So out they went and then a new driveway was in order.
I chose to widen it and make two larger parking spots out front in front of our house and our rental next door.
About 32 yards of concrete were poured. It cost as much as I made my first of teaching in 1973!
I like to shoot time lapse sequences when we build something so . . .

Here they are if you have a few minutes to kill.
The first is about a minute and has no soundtrack ( I forgot to add music).

Live video with a squirrel not wanting to leave - he did survive!

First video, it looks like the crane/truck is eating the tree. Love it.

I would guess those big trees were probably 50 years old maybe.
As they cut sections down, they ran into more and more hollow branches.
In storms we would almost always have something big fall down.
I am starting to work on the torn up yard, in addition to working on our rental house next door.
Our great renter just left, so we are putting in some new carpet and getting it freshened up before advertising.
It now has a much bigger parking spot, so we won't come so close when backing out.

Today the barricades came down and I made the ceremonial first drive down the new concrete pathway to heaven. Exclamation
