Running in Portland - need recommendation
I will be travelling next week and find myself with an open morning on Thursday. I have a connection to Nike and can probably arrange a campus tour and maybe a visit to the employee store, which I hear is awesome. I know they have a two mile trail around their campus, don't know if its open to the public. If I stay in the Beaverton area, does anyone have a recommendation for a 4-6 mile run?

There are LOTS of options, depending on where you're staying and what sort of run you're looking for.
Do you have any more details?

Re: Running in Portland - need recommendation
I arrive late Wed night. Get up, take a run and go visit the Nike HQ then get to my meeting in Portland by 12:30pm. Will stay in Beaverton if the tour works out. If not I will stay either near the airport or downtown Portland. If it makes a difference on a nice run or a crappy one I have the flexibility to stay wherever. Whether or not I stay in Beaverton is contingent on the Nike tour. I figure if it happens it makes the most sense to stay near there so I can get up and run, get back, shower and put on my business clothes - Ha - I imagine a suit will look out of place at Nike.
I'm planning on running a 10k race on Sunday so I'm not looking to wipe myself out.

A business suit at Nike would look just a *little* unusual... at least the folks I tend to see when I'm there. But I'm around footwear designers, not bean-counters. Even so...
It sounds like you're looking for a morning route, then. If you were feeling adventurous, I was going to suggest a trail run in Forest Park, which can be accessed from the Beaverton area fairly easily - though if you were staying in Beaverton, you'd want to drive there.
There is a chip trail around the perimeter of the "berm" that isolates the Nike campus. I don't think it's open to the public, however.
I Googled Beaverton running routes and got this site: http://www.walkjogrun.net/running-routes/USA/OR/Beaverton/
More runs are linked here: http://www.orrc.net/faveruns/fave.htm
If you were in downtown, there are nice paths along the Willamette River (they're mentioned in the link above).
There's always the search function in "Map My Run" as well... http://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/search/run/united-states/or/beaverton
Good luck! How long are you in town?

I'd want to see Hayward Field, personally, but it sounds like your itinerary won't accomodate that.

Hayward Field is awesome, but it's two hours south of Portland in Eugene. It would be worth a trip, though.

I think so, if it's not being used for practice. But I haven't lived in Eugene for years now.
(It is 110 miles from Nike World HQ to Hayward Field, BTW. If you go to Eugene, you should also run on Pre's Trail.)
