Looks like it's time to connect to NBC's live streaming. I want to see that 10K final but we may not be home for the rebroadcast.

Anyone have any recent news on Desi? Even though she trains locally I can't get the latest. I talked to Keith Hanson (Kevin's brother - her coach) a week ago but he was just saying day to day. I haven't seen or heard any new news in the last week.

If you're just looking for results, this IAAF page has complete results for track and field events. If you can't wait for the telecast, it's the place to go.

The announcers were better than NBC's buffoons online too.... I cannot imagine suffering through Tom Hammond for a 10K.

Spoiler Alert

Post  Michele "1L" Keane on Fri Aug 03, 2012 8:10 pm

Wow, I cannot believe how fast Dibaba took off on the bell lap - incredible. And the three Americans looked like they were working together and they all posted PRs for the distance. Cool race.

She really left no doubt going into the bell and exploded on the first 200 of the last lap. Uhl and JCB were definitely working together from the get-go. Hastings tried to hang with the lead pack as long as she could, but fell off around half way and found herself in no-woman's land with the other two Americans not too far behind in the 2nd pack.

Dibaba is my favorite African runner. I was wondering what kind of form she would show after all her injuries and just a few tune-up races. Today's 10,000 proved that nothing has changed. This gal typically runs the last lap faster than the 400 PR's of most of the field. Once I saw her start her kick with 800 to go. I think she was just showing off.

Because of the way Ethiopia picks their team, she won't be in the 5,000 this time. With Dibaba now healthy, I think she would go double-gold again in London.

I don't know that it will work, but did you try going through your cable provider's website instead of NBC's? Alternate path that may just work.

Not to sound mean but I would almost have to think that would have put me to sleep! I think it is one thing par take in walking or running 50k or longer but to watch it on TV I'm not to sure! HaHa although I love following the big ultra events online. I think the Olympics should start adding a 50 mile and 100 mile race. I think that would be cool to gather all the best runners in the world and watch them compete against each other.

Well run race by Mo and Galen - way to work together and show the Ethopians and Kenyans that they mean business. It was so cool to see Galen sprint by (the other) Bekele on that last turn. I couldn't be happier for both of them.

Yep great race! Amazing that Rupp is only the 3rd American in 100 years to medal in the 10k.

Women's marathon is a very interesting race right now through 10 miles on a 2:26 pace. Really interesting layout of the course. The tempo is starting to pick-up some now. So far the race reminds me of a long Fartlek run.

Amazing how different people's perspectives can be. Local sports talk hosts called the 10K excruciatingly boring to watch and said they couldn't stand watching guys run 25 laps on a track.

In contrast, I was disappointed they went away to commercial three times in thirty minutes.
