Welcome back to the states, Kevin. I'm betting you might not be stoked about it, yet, especially given that "race." Yuck.

Week 2 of 14 Thxgiving 10k Training
Sat 8/25 - 5.5mi easy + 8x 8sec hill sprints/strides
Sun 8/26 - 8.5mi GA
Mon 8/27 - 5.5mi easy
Tues 8/28 - 7.6mi easy
Wed 8/29 - 5.5mi easy + 10x 8sec hill sprints/strides
Thurs 8/30 - 8.33mi w/ 4x 1mi @10k pace (last one the wheels fell off a little) w/ 3min recoveries
Fri 8/31 - rest

Week: 43.7mi

WTD 69 Highlight was Tuesday's LT run really nailed it for 45 minutes at 7:08 pace.

I think this is week 5 of marathon training. Not a stellar week due to a golf trip and some life issues but got the important runs in.

Mon - nothing - golf trip
Tue - 8 miles with 6.2 miles at tempo (45 minute tempo)
Wed - 7 miles easy
Thu - 9 miles with 6 x 2 minute intervals
Fri - 6.2 miles easy
Sat - nothing
Sun - 19.5 miles LSD - between the heat and lack of sleep, this was a tough run

Week - 49.5 miles
YTD - 1,735

Doing a ton better, thank you John! I can feel it and it's a little sore but the PT and more resting really is helping.

Kind of a mixed-up week with vacation and all, but it'll do

Mon: 1 mile barefoot walking on trails in Central Oregon
Tue: 4.9 miles barefoot running on trails
Wed: 2.4 miles walking (in shoes) on trails
Thu: 2.4 miles running barefoot on trails
Fri: Rest
Sat: Rest
Sun: 6 miles barefoot on concrete (smooth), asphalt (varied) and chip seal (yiii!)

Total: 16.7 miles (14.3 miles of those barefoot)

Note: This is what chip seal paving looks like

A bed of nails might be more comfy.

The week started off well but clunked to a finish. Not a good thing in week 5/16.

Mon-6 easy
Tues-off
Wed-10 w/2 x 3 tempo (7:19, 7:13, 7:08 and 7:15, 7:10, 7:05)
Thur-5.6 (supposed to be 10, bailed due to heat/humidity and a creaky knee)
Fri-off
Sat-3.4 (planned 6, knee acted up again)
Sun-10.5 (knee wasn't bad, but done in by humidity and time crunch)

Week: 35.5

Interesting week. Was on vacation for the most part in Holden Beach, NC where the daily dewpoint was between 70-73. Temp 73-88. Fabulous running weather. Evil or Very Mad But we vacation in this area most years so I knew what I was in for.

Mon - did Sunday's long run because the weather was too intense for me Sun -- 17
Tue - 5 mile recovery then a 7 mile bike ride with the family
Wed - 15 Mile GA with my 24 yr old son who is training for his first marathon - Detroit
Thu - 5 Mile recovery
Fri - 11 in the morning with 2x3miles at LT - was supposed to be 6, but needed a break. The GD humidity and heat - even early in the morning
Fri - 4 Mile on the beach in my Hattori's was fun
Sat - non-stop 14 hr drive home to watch Mich get clobbered by AL
Sun - 20 mile run that was easier than any of the above

77 for the week. Most in one week ever. I also ran a whole bunch the week before and did some hikes in the mtns of NC before we got to the beach.

Back to school for the kids and work for me tomorrow. Sad

Week 11 of Chicago training:

Mon: 4 + 12 with 3 x (400, 800, 2400, 800, 400 continuous but varying pace targets). Interesting workout.
Tues: 16
Wed: 4 + 8 easy
Thurs: 4 + 8 easy (work dominated the last two days)
Fri: 12 with 12 x 800 in 2:40 avg. (Slow for repeats, but that was the target, with just 45 sec intervals)
Sat: 14
Sun: 20
