Hal's V-team yard Sale!
Was scanning Hal's sight today and found this post from 3 days ago, thought you all might be interested.
What ever happened to the V-Team? It's a long story, involving changes in the sport and on the Internet (Facebook, Twitter, Kindle) and my own lifestyle pursuits....
Meanwhile....
We are in the process of cleaning house, emptying the attic of some items we no longer use, and that includes a banner from a half dozen years or so that we hung in our booths at expos, most specifically the Chicago Marathon....
The LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon
VIRTUAL TRAINING
With Hal Higdon
If you have a wide wall with nothing interesting hanging on it, this might make a nice collectible for you. 8 feet x 3 feet. Oilskin. Based on a couple of other items we sold recently on eBay, we pegged the starting price at $56. Make me an offer I can't refuse.

Any takers? lol

First off yeah 56 dollars I think he is smoking to much dope! Second who would hang that ugly thing up on their wall? Sorry don't mean to offend anyone but really that thing is nothing but junk! There is a thing called a trash can to toss things in that you no longer want.

Yeah, I don't get it. He has got to be richer than the vast majority of people, and certainly has a lot of fame in the running world. What is the point of selling things that should just be tossed out. That said, I have a banner from the 1994 Chicago marathon I will sell for $5.60.
It is just coincidence, but today's paper had an article on how much people will pay for football memorabilia.

Not sure of the significance of this banner. Memorabilia is questionable IMO. Maybe a good thing for Honey Boo Boo to use while mud-sliding in their backyard.

Buy it now for 175. Wow. I can't imagine paying for that.

You know John I believe there is some memorabilia that has value and worth. There are things that I have collected for years and believe and know are important to sport and to our American cultural and have value. Not to be rude I don't put Hal Higdon in that group.
Edit I posted this Schuey (Martin) didn't realize my wife was login. HaHa

Looks like he's down and out. He can't afford shoes and his deck desperately needs waterproofing! He may be selling everything soon. LOL He might be able to get American Pickers to come over and go through his out buildings.

It is really sad to see this guy trying to make a buck off of everything. I did, at one time, have respect for this man...but as time has gone by, that respect has slowly gone away.

I have one of the street banners from Chicago, signed by Hal, that I won from him in a contest a few years ago. Maybe I should throw that on there and see if I can get $175 for it too!

Maybe I can sell my Falmouth '99 bib number with Bill Rodgers signature - what do you think? Might be worth $175.
