Wow, where's Kevin? Oh well, since I actually got some miles in this week, I'll start.

Mon: 12 miles low HR (29 degrees)
Tue: 3.9 miles walking (36 degrees)
Wed: 3 miles barefoot on a treadmill (68 degrees, but less fun than you'd imagine)
Thu: Nike lab testing - 25x60-foot repeats @ fast pace (68 degrees)
Fri: 5.2 miles low HR (34 degrees)
Sat: Rest
Sun: 6.6 miles low HR on black ice. whee! (28 degrees); 1 mile barefoot with Alec after the fog burned off (36 degrees in the shade, 40 in the sun)

Week: 32.1 miles

Nice temp swings everywhere as it was a nice week here in NE Ohio. Not so much for next week...

Mon - Day off, return from Boston
Tues - 6 miles with 10 x 1 min on/1 min off
Wed - 4.5 miles easy run
Thurs - 7.5 mile Hal style tempo run
Fri - 3.1 mile recovery run
Sat - 12 mile run, felt good until the last mile when my left hip began to hurt
Sun - Took day off to rest hip which is very tight. It was only a recovery day, better safe than sorry.

Total - 33.1 miles

Gobbles - PR followed by a 16? Shit. And we were pretty close in terms of fitness for a while. Nice job.

1/14 - 1:10 recovery bike
1/15 - 4mi progressive run (playing with footstrike and new shoes)
1/16 - 2hr easy/aerobic bike, weights
1/17 - 4mi recovery run
1/18 - weights, day of cooking, first time presenting at business meeting
1/19 - at retreat for executive board I'm on
1/20 - 5.2mi easy/recovery run, more retreat

Not too much this week.

- I did my six mile Maffetone test which shows that my conditioning is leaving rapidly now, which is to be expected.

- Am doing lots of core, leg and upper body strength training. I am totally realizing how one dimensional I was for the past few years, thinking I didn't need these items, or cross training. I re-read my gait analysis from three years ago and noticed how often it refered to my weak core and especially weak hips, and how that could lead to problems. Big lesson learned.

- Cross training almost every day though at a recovery / low aerobic HR. Thursday was a spin class which always gets my HR up there

Week - 6 miles
YTD - 23 miles

Auburn. Wanted to try somewhere different. I was planning it as a threshold workout, not a race, but...
