Sunday: If I've learned anything from re-aggravating and rehabbing my chronic ankle injury (several times!) it's to let pain be my guide. After piling on the miles Thu & Fri then a long pace run yesterday, there it was, my old friend, only a few hundred meters into today's long run. It's good to have these things that remind us we're mortal.

My comeback continues with a decent week of running. Besides the below, I am doing three days of weight lifting and core work, I really like that and wish I had been doing it all along. I'm even offering the gift of stretching to the running gods in hopes of avoiding a setback.

Mon - 7.75 miles with 5x1000K intervals
Tue - rest
Wed - 9.5 miles with 8 at MP
Thu - cross train
Fri - 7.85 miles easy
Sat - 16 miles long
Sun - 5 miles recovery

Week - 46 miles
YTD - 154 miles

I had all sorts of weird interruptions in my usual training this past week, which made it the perfect time for a planned step-back week.

Mon: 20.3 miles, low HR
Tue: 2.2 miles walking, 2.5 miles @ uptempo pace at Nike
Wed: Lunch meeting!? So much for a walk.
Thu: 5.1 miles barefoot on wet pavement
Fri: What? I work a day shift, not a night shift, today? Crap. No run. Or walk.
Sat: Planned rest day
Sun: 6.3 miles, low HR

Week: 36.4 miles

I'll do a stepped-back long run Monday and then pick it back up next week.

Another reasonably lazy week. Valentine's Day + birthday celebrations and candy made for a chocolatey recovery week.

M - 4.5mi run + weights
T - 1hr10min bike with lots of elevation change in the rain; drive back to Sac
W - busy day; went out for a run and turned around 30sec later; too much to do
Th - Aileen arrived!; 3.1mi with her then 2mi tempo
F - 2.4mi to gym, weights, 2.4mi back home
S - nada; big annual gala for a Deaf organization up here; lots of shmoozing
S - nada; unless you count walking around the Embarcadero/aquarium in SF... and eating lots of mini donuts (Trish's!)

Back to reality and stability this week as Aileen takes off and all my scheduling stuff is finally settling in.

Hahahaha don't worry I threw in a 10 on my birthday (yesterday) with a 10-8-6-4-2 pyramid from GA to 5k. And I may or may not want to run 26.2 when I'm exactly 26.2 years old. So we'll see.
