Thanks for sharing. I realized that I ran that year as well (as a bandit) -scary thought that it was 30 yrs ago. I love that her mother finally gave up asking her when she was going to quit running - mine needs to take some advice from her Mom.

To put her opening 10K split of 31:45 in perspective and down hill or not, that time would have gotten her 2nd place in the 10K at the Standford Inventational track meet a couple of weeks ago with only Flanagan beating that time. And so what if it was just a rust buster for some in that race as some were also going for the "A" standard.
