Re: Your Week in Training June 17 - 23
Monday – Return from Italy
Tuesday – Easy 3 miles, felt very tight
Wednesday – 6.5 miles on the trails, warm and slow, but felt better
Thursday – Massage (ahh!) and drive to western NY for the summer
Friday – 4 miles easy, trying to adjust to HILLS and humidity
Saturday – 8 miles (72 min). Tough morning in the humidity and I forgot what hills are like (since Cleveland is so flat)
Sunday – 26 miles on the bike
Total: 22.5 for the week. Got to start back somewhere.

Well, I really messed up thinking that the training program was 16 weeks when it was 18 weeks! Luckily I caught it after just one week (where I ran more than the plan said anyway) so I am still on track.
Week 2 of Chicago marathon training:
Week: 42 miles

Are you using Hansons' plan? I know Carleen is doing well with their plan. I think it's to late for me to change plans at this point but I'm really curious and considering it for the future.

Hi, yes this is the Hanson's plan, it's the first time I am trying it. I believe in mixing up training plans every year or two to keep the body guessing and adapting, and this is definitely a very different type program than any others I've tried. Hopefully it goes well.

Re: Your Week in Training June 17 - 23
The last peak week of training for the Mount Hood 50.
Tue: 4 miles walking
Wed: 4.2 miles barefoot run
Thu: 12.3 mile low HR run
Fri: 6.4-mile hill run
Sat: Rest
Sun: 21.7-mile shakeout run on the Mount Hood 50 course. Went out too fast and paid for it later.
Mon: 12-mile low HR run, proving that I can still run on dead legs. (Whew!)
Week: 60.8 miles
It's taper time!
