Re: 12 more months
Woo hoo! Finished a little over 6 hrs, would have been a little under if I hadn't stopped to nurse but it was really good to see my family and I'm sure good for all of us that I did stop. I'll post splits and stuff later, but honestly feel like I ran a really good race, pretty consistent although I know my last few miles were a little slower, not a ton more. The last two miles I had a hard time breathing but I think I was tired and maybe getting a little excited/emotional? So I walked some then just to avoid the light headeness. Really glad I ran alone, my friend Jen came just seconds under 7 hrs (the cut off) and wasn't feeling well. I stayed with her and 3 of her friends for the first 3 minutes and then they were doing a 3:1 run walk thing and I just didn't want a watch telling me to walk. They finished around 6:45. Well, to each his own, right? I am soooooooo glad to be done with it but it was really great in a way, too. Thought of you all, thanks for putting up with me this week! I guess it was for a good cause.

Woot!
And wow! Nailed a 50K even while stopping to nurse midway through?
Now that's being in command of the situation. Congrats! Well done.

Outstanding Julie! Sounds like you did a great job of both racing your own race and having a great time doing it.

Re: 12 more months
Thanks! Had a really bad night with two sick boys so we got almost no sleep plus really bad GI issues. I'm really dehydrated now but happy. Oh and I'm going to put a new pin in my map since it didn't start in Lincoln, I'm putting one just east of my Lincoln pin. I think that's OK. Race report is up!

Thanks Nick! Now to solidify my spring plans and I would guess close up this blog since I did what I set out to do. Pretty happy with how it all turned out. Now to find the equivalent or appropriate training plan for a marathon. Definitely open to suggestions. I want to train well without injury.

My words exactly when I hit mile 16 and was more than half done on Saturday!

Pretty settled on Lincoln marathon, now going to use the next 10 weeks to enjoy the fall weather while we have it and get into some hip strengthening and try to let my knee feel really solid to start spring training which of course has to start in January, my worst month for running.

Winter's a good time to work on those core muscles. Lincoln sounds like a good race for you.
So, what are you naming the new blog?

Oh man, I need a new blog? I have a hard enough time making a meal plan for next week...
I guess I'm past the 12 mos, though, so you're right. I was thinking 3rd time's a charm, since it's my 3rd Lincoln marathon but alas, they were both much faster than I'll probably run this May so that doesn't fit.
