Meb is a Class Act
Meb had to drop at mile 19.5 today in NY, but instead of dropping out, he walked for 3 min and then helped other runners by "jogging" (his jog is my sprint) with them to the finish. There is a video interview on flotrack in which he tells his story. He basically says that it is not always about "winning" but sometimes "winning" is helping others to the finish. What a class act!!!!

By the way, Dave-O, he ran a 10:12 mile when he was forced to stop, and he too kept on going.

More coolness from Meb: http://www.letsrun.com/news/2013/11/time-life/
This is a wonderful piece written by a top American athlete that ran the last 3 miles with Meb and how gracious Meb was and how cool the experience was for our sport.

Yep Meb is awesome!! I agree the best races aren't always the one's you win or run your best time but the one's that really come from the heart and you know you have done something great with the day you were given!

Neat story...makes you proud to be a member of the running community.
We have some pretty awesome runners that reside in Bend. Max King has weekly runs that he invites folks to join him on and also puts on clinics at the shoe store on a regular basis. He's very patient with us mere mortal runners.
The thing that got me hooked on running was when I ran my first 10K in Bend...way back in 2008. After the elite runners finished they lined the finish line and cheered in the rest of the field. Pretty awesome.
