Need BOS Hotel
OK - I screwed up again. My normal travel agent has sold out her BOS rooms. Jeeze, everything is becoming so bloody competitive. I knew it was going to be more runners, but I neglected to connect that with the hotel situation. Damn. Any ideas out there???

Check the suburbs, Cambridge, and Newton (anything on a subway line, but before you book ask me about the place). Seth stayed out in Revere and I guess it wasn't too bad although to me Revere is not where I'd want to be. Once you book one of them, then keep trying Boston hotels both on the internet and by calling. Runners always drop out.
Re: Need BOS Hotel
I stayed at the one next to the Staples HQ in Framingham. Not bad at all. Rollers in all directions, so take that into account for any pre-race running.
Re: Need BOS Hotel
Other then the first year I have a stayed outside of the city. The last two years I have stayed 5 mins from the Hopkinton State Park and to be honest for me I like it so much better. We normally get a two bedroom suite.

Is it you have a huge group of people? I'm seeing a ton of openings still right downtown, expensive as all getout, but available.

The hotel to which Mike is referring is the Sheraton Tara in Framingham. It is right off the Mass Pike with easy access (driving) to Hopkington.

Ideally we'd be right downtown. It's better for a larger group. Need either 2 or 3 rooms. The Boston Plaza thru a travel agent is $305/night. Now they want like $700 online. ridiculous.

Don't be surprised to see the price go higher since it is also Easter weekend!

well - sometimes corporate travel agencies can come in handy. Three rooms at the Intercontinental Boston for $269/nt. Downtown, 1.5 miles from the finish line. Won't guarantee dble beds though. So a bit of a risk there. Room are going for $866 on their website. So at least it feels like a good deal.

Re: Need BOS Hotel
If anyone is still looking for a room. I have a double room booked at the Courtyard Boston Downtown and I don't think I am going to go. I have it booked on Marriott points and could convert that to someone else for cash if needed. I will probably hold on to the reservation until I have to cancel in case someone I know ends up needing the room.
