Your Week in Training Feb 10 - 16

Day miles  type .
Mon     8  easy  31°F
Tue     - 
Wed    12  speed 27°F
Thu     8  easy  38°F Over hills through twelve inches of fresh wet snow.
Fri     - 
Sat     5  easy  36°F Cut 10 mile run short due to brutal ice.
Sun     -       .     Brutal footing ==> No run. Core workout only.
Week   33             I need the miles, but 12" of wet snow has compacted into
really bad ice
YTD   223             on uncleared park service trails here in DC. Bring on the sun!

A step-back week, thanks in part to a late snowpacolypse…

Mon: 3.2 miles hilly power hiking on the TM (calf-deep slush/ice outside)
Tue: 2.2 miles walking on semi-slippery sidewalks
Wed: 3.1 mile barefoot run (warm! finally!); 2.2 miles walking at lunch
Thu: 5.2 miles low HR run
Fri: 4.3 miles low HR/hill run
Sat: Rest
Sun: 6.2 miles, with 5-mile MAF test that showed some nice improvement Smile

Total: 26.5 miles

A decent week but a lot of TM running and 2-5" of more snow for tomorrow.

Mon - 7 miles
Tue - 10 miles with 7x800m repeats
Wed - weights
Thu - 9.3 miles with 8 at MP
Fri - 7 miles
Sat - 18 miles
Sun - 7 miles

Week - 58 miles
YTD - 361 miles

65 miles for the week. A tough workout of five 1.5 mile repeats at 6:40 (MP I hope).  Long run of 16.  Actually got outside for 3 or 4 of the runs.  Seems like snow everyday on the road.  Have an 8 mile tempo (12 total) on Tuesday and really would rather do it outside but the weather's not looking so hot.  Used to hate treadmills, still do, but certainly appreciate what they offer when necessary.

Taper (in a way) week before IMS Arizona Half:

Mon - Day off
Tues - 6 miles with striders; Work with trainer
Wed - Easy 5 miles; Core class
Thurs - 5 miles with 6 x 1 min @ 5K pace
Fri - Travel day
Sat - 4.63 miles (40 min) easy before race
Sun - 13.1 IMS Arizona Half Marathon 1:42:57  1.5 mile warm up, 1 mile cool down

WTD:  36.23 miles
