NYC Marathon

Post  Mike MacLellan on Sun Nov 02, 2014 12:28 pm

Anyone watching?  Looks like Meb is getting dropped ~1:45.  Women's race is down to 2.

1L is holding steady with a 3:45 predicted finish.

Great finish to the Woman's race. Last I saw Meb was still in the mix.

Agreed, Schuey.  That was a hell of a strong move - you could see it in her stride that it was going to stick.

Meb appeared to be breaking from the pack at the last picture of the men's, but he's still in 6th place, so maybe he was just taking a different tangent.  The commentators have said that the top two men have broken away, though.  No picture yet.

Looks like it is coming down to Kipsang and Deseisa. Lot at steak for Kipsang he needs this win to win the world majors.

Kipsang looked Desisa in the eye when he bumped him and said something to him, and just put him away.

That argy-bargy in the last 200m!!!  Not sure if I've ever seen an elbow like that before.  That kick, though.  Holy crap.

Yeah that kick was something! Nice finish for Meb 4th and came in strong! The last time I saw a kick similar to that was when Meb won NYC and dropped the hammer.

Common Michele hang in there! I know it's tough but you can do it. Slowed a little predicted 3:49 finish at 16 miles. Hang in there hopefully she can make up some time with the wind at her back the final 10k.

Michele's paces have been a little all over the place - I think it's more a function of the timing mats or something than her running.  She's still looking strong, though.

Thanks - I forgot who else was running it.

1L's picked it up a little and is creeping back towards a 3:45.

Soft bonk.  But was much stronger than most around me in Central Park.
Couldn't find a train to share the wind breaking work, so the wind was a big impact for me.
