Mon 6 recovery
Tue  8/4 double
Wed  8 with strides
Thu  11 wth 5x1 mile @ 6:30
Fri  7/4 double
Sat  10
Sun  20 with miles 11-15 @ 7:00 followed by three miles with alternating halves of 6:50/7:10.  Coach calls it a money maker.  I call it a widowmaker.

80.3 for the week.  First time ever I've had back to back 80 mile weeks.

YTD 2511

Seem to be on track for CIM.  Best training cycle in 5 or 6 marathons.  Good strength work.  Good mileage and base.  Minimal injuries. PR in the HM a few weeks ago with minimum taper.  First time ever with some consistent gym work  Weight is at a low this far out from a race.  Problem is I'm older and y'all know what that entails.  Have to work harder just to overcome Father Time just to break even, let alone get faster.  Now onto the taper, if a planned 65 mile week can be considered the beginning of a taper.  Jeeze.  All signs good so far - knock on wood.  Still have a few tough workouts left.

T - 7.6mi easy; recon of the loop for my upcoming 50mi
W - 10mi easy
Th - off
F - 10mi in 2hr on Sugarloaf Mountain, MD; not very runnable

S - 6.8mi recovery

PR of 2:58:02 was set two years ago on 3500 feet of downhill on Ridge to Bridge.  Wanted to go sub 3:00 on a more normal course.  Have been close with my last 3 marathons (Bos, Chi, Bos) all 3:00:xx.  Dream is sub 2:55, but not sure that's in my repertoire.  Have to see how the last three weeks go.  And then, oh yes, the weather has got to be right.  That's why I picked CIM > good rep for weather.
