I guess we need to wake up and smell the "hosers," then vote 'em out! Hey, good talking to ya Saturday, after I hung up I looked at the total conversation minutes and said , WHAT, we were talking like long lost brothers or something, next time we'll do that during a 18 miler or something!Julie wrote:Schuey wrote:Jerry wrote:Diego wrote:Hey Schuey, good luck this weekend.
On the ugly business side of things, I just saw that Congress is seriously considering taxing all IRA/401/403b/HSA accounts, etc. e.g. pre-tax contributions, pretty much shifting the tax burden from later to now. That sounds like a recipe for disaster. If something like that happens, do you buy commodity options and look for another country with nice running trails until the revolution subsides?
Socialism vs capitalism, one would think Jerry knows better, but the truth is Jerry is seriously confused.
Yeah I can see how you could be confused these days with some of the people that are running our country Jerry!
things used to be better.....

that is not nice. I always do it right. Just sometimes enough other people do it wrong that my candidate doesn't get elected.

HAHA! That was a great answer Julie!
I'm one of those people that if you don't vote, your bitch card has been revoked. Good thing I vote every election, because I still have my bitch card and I've used it lot in recent years.

Especially when it comes a persons retirement money. The problem today is that government has run things into the ground so bad that they are looking for anyway to get money, it truly truly is a sad thing. Good thing I don't run my budget here at home like politician do!!
Couldn't of said that any better.

Good luck keeping Chris in line this weekend, Schuey. You're a great guy for taking on such a challenge!
And have a great race yourself, of course.

The only problem I have with Chicago is too much excitement at the start. I will have to work on that if I run Chicago again. So if you do a good job in the first 10k for Chris, you can really just take off yourself.
Enjoy the day!

Martin, have a great race and time with Chris. It's a lot of fun to run with someone, keep encouraging him, but don't ask a lot of questions during the race so he saves energy!

Re: Felt a Hundred Different Demons
Thanks everyone for the well wishes this coming weekend. Although I'm not running for my own PR, I'm taking Sunday very serious and taking my job of pacing Chris as an important one.
There is no doubt that there is no lack of respect for the 26.2 mile distance! Nothing in life is ever a guarantee, so with that being said I have the same pre-race feelings as I would if I was going for my own PR! Also I wanted it to be known that not only is running a sub 3 a big goal for Chris and others and that it is a huge challenge to do. It is also a huge challenge for me also!
It's not like I'm some stud 2:30 or faster runner. Breaking 3 hours is still a challenge and a test of my ability and will to do. So as much as I'm working with Chris, he will be doing the same for me. So one can say that it will be a McKee & Schuey team effort!! I truly believe in not only my ability but 100% believe in Chris!!
There is no doubt that Chris is in great shape and is primed for Sunday, so again with the two of us working together and doing the little things right on Sunday we both will finish with huge satisfaction and PR's.
Yes Sunday is going to be a huge PR for me also!! I'm so excited about the day, so excited to see everyone and even more excited to have the chance to run with a guy that I look at as a big brother! I can go on and on about all the wonderful things the Mckee family has done for myself, Lisa and my mom. It is now time for me on Sunday to give back to the Mckee family!!
HEY CHRIS LETS FUCKING DO THIS BUDDY! WE ARE GOING TO DO IT BULL STYLE!!!!!
Oh by the way John, The bull doesn't ask questions when running. I tell people " Get out of my way the Bull is coming through"!! I will be all business Sunday and with that I will also being enjoying myself 110%!!!
If any of you ever want me not to talk or ask questions go out and run with me. Really I don't say much, I let me running do the talking!

Bulls are noisy, hostile, and clumsy. I'm going to rename you The Quiet Assassin. Good luck on Sunday.

This has me fired up. I'm nervous of course but that's normal before any marathon I'm racing. I'm looking forward to the adventure we'll have out there on Sunday.
