Good luck tomorrow! I did the half in Hartford today, and it turned out to be not very windy, but I think the winds did pick up after I was done. You probably made the right call!

I heard it was not to bad either. It is what it is now. Thanks for the good wishes. Weather seems ok in AC right now a west wind which if you are going to have wind that would be the best direction as it will be by my side most of the run.

Making dinner now then some bed time!

I went to the AC site and couldn't find any updates. Hopefully Kenny is hammering.

I just got off the phone with Kenny, and with his permission, here's a brief summation...suffice it to say that he didn't have the day he hoped he would. How bad was it you may be wondering? Well, you know you're not going to hit your goal when you try to DNF but there's nobody who knows how to get you back to the start, so you stop running and start volunteering at a water stop.
The dude is in fine spirits though, and he did finish. I'll leave it that and wait for him to supply the details.

Seth is right. I tried to DNF at mile 15 but could not get ride back to start. So at mile 18 I took the liberty to volunteer handing out water and gatorade to the "runners". I did this for about 3-5minutes while keeping my watch running.

Let just say I crapped out in AC and lucky #13 marathon was not so lucky. I did end up finishing just because I had to get back to my car. It was a long long long last 8+ miles. My time well lets face it not very good. Ill post a bit more detail report soon.

Philly in 5 weeks. Ill be back!

sorry to hear that, Kenny.

My 13th marathon was Fox Cities and not so great for me, either.

Philly will be great!

Kenny you got a good long run in. It wasn't there and you were smart enough not to force it knowing you have the backup.

Thanks everyone for the kind remarks.

I took off Mon and Tuesday to give the legs rest. They are in much better condition when compared to the HM race I ran many weeks ago. So, I think I can bounce back well. Below is tentative schedule to get me to philly. Depending on weather and how I feel 3:15 maybe but sub 3:20 might be the better call.

Hey Kenny...Sorry to hear about AC. At least you shut it down and didn't try to force anything. Looks like Philly is going to be the goal race...

BTW...Do you have any pictures of you working the aid station?? I bet they would be hilarious with you in your running gear handing out water Smile

Hmmm I wonder if we can count marathons like how floors of buildings are counted... 12 and then jump right to 14? There's never a 13th floor. Razz

Sorry to hear about this Kenny. You'll bounce back from this no problem!!
