makeup and running with sunscreen

Hey ladies (and I guess any men that wear makeup...)



For those of you who wear sunscreen and run after work, and wear foundation / powder /some sort of color on your face at work: do you go to the trouble of removing your makeup (or at least your foundation) before you put on sunscreen to run? Or do you just put the sunscreen right on top of everything else? Just curious.

I just slap some sunscreen on top. I figure I am going to sweat most of it all off during the run and then wash off what is left after, so I don't worry about removing makeup first.

I guess if I wore foundation or powder of any kind, I would probably just spray over it.

I wear a mineral foundation (Jane Iredale) that has a decent SPF in it and is waterproof too so if I have it on because I am running after work I am usually lazy and don't wash it off. The SPF in it is a huge bonus. On the days I don't have makeup on, I just slather on the regular sunscreen.

Yuck...I don't wear foundation, but if I did, I'd wash it off. Can't imagine running and sweating off make up. I'd take a minute and do a few swipes with a washcloth before putting on sunscreen.

I only wear a light tinted moisturizer in the summer that is SPF 15, so I just slather right over it and wear a hat.

I do not wear makeup nor sunscreen, so I guess I have no input here...

I'm out of my element here, but why the hell would you wear makeup to go run?

I'm not talking about wearing it to go run. I was asking about people who already have makeup on, usually from work or being out, who then run later in the day, if they actually take their foundation off, or just put sunscreen over it.

Contrary to the rumor, Jerry never runs like this:

Trying to remember what I did in my make-up days. I think I left it on, but I rarely wore foundation/powder during the week. Eyeliner and mascara were common, but that doesn't help with the sunscreen question. And I didn't really wear sunscreen, anyway, so I'm no help. Nevermind.

What I want to know is, when I go run on a Saturday at 7am, why do so many women I pass have perfume on? I really don't get it.

I witnessed that on race day...makes no sense...

Doesn't everyone know that we will all smell bad at the end of a race? Perfume or no perfume, you'll stink like the rest of us.
