Chrissie Wellington on Recovery
This is a very good read about recovery from Chrissie Wellington, the best female triathlete in the world. Enjoy and heed her advice.

Great article - Chrissie is an absolutely amazing person and a more amazing athlete. It was a neat story that you got a medal from her at Kansas.
I can relate to the feeling of guilt for not busting it every day, but learning that rest IS a part of training is a great perspective. Butt on couch training - funny how not that long ago I needed butt off couch training!

But... but... but... I don't wanna!
A few things I've gleaned from other sources:
This month's RW suggested that 70% of training mileage (I think it was mileage, not time) should be "easy" or "recovery."
I remember an article a while back about Kenyan elites during their PEAK that said they averaged 21 minutes of "specific" training per day. Which, given their huge mileage, comes out to 15-20% of the total (I'm averaging 5min/mi and 150-200mi/week).
