Video of tornado close to my community this past Monday evening
This is a link to the video I took of the tornado in our area this past Monday evening. It was interesting to see the tornado grow into a larger storm. Luckily no injuries or deaths. Of course there was crop, irrigation pivots, grain bin, a few outbuildings and a couple homes damaged. My hope is that these folks will bounce back soon as strong as ever.

Whoa... freakin' tornados... nice storm-chasing, Jon! Even if it's 8 or so miles away!

Wow.
I'd say 8 miles away is a good distance. I've never seen a video of a tornado forming and building like that. Thanks for sharing.
What size did it get up to, an F2? F3?

I don't think it's official yet, but I would guess that one will turn out to be an F2. It wasn't very large but if you were in its path it did do damage. It knocked some railroad cars off the tracks a little further north. It dissipated after being on the ground about 20 minutes and almost immediately to it's north another stronger one formed. I believe that second one may end up at F3 as it did more damage from what I understand and it was seen to be multivortex at times in its life cycle.

It's amazing something so destructive and dangerous can be so beautiful. Thanks for sharing. I'm glad no one was injured.

Wow, Jon! We lucked out and Cairo was just out of the path of the one in Buffalo county and the one in Osceola. Yikes!

another Nebraskan?! Glad you are safe. They said no deaths from all the tornadoes that hit NE this week but some farmsteads sure lost a lot.
