1. Do you care who wins - if so, tell us who you want to win?

2. Any score predictions? Feel free to provide other prognostications, number of sacks, any wardrobe malfunctions, etc.

3. Would you drive 12+ hours, stay in a hotel 45 miles away, and buy scalped tickets for thousands of dollars, all to be at the game instead of watching it on tv? The Giants fan whose office is next to mine is doing just that! What's the farthest you would drive and most you would pay to see your team play in the game?

4. For all football fans: Best Super Bowl ever was:__? If you are not a football fan, just respond with your favorite sporting event (like when the Cubs won the World Series that time back in 1908).

5. Who is the best QB in the NFL?

6. If you trained for 18 weeks for a marathon, and the night before the marathon you were offered tickets to a championship event and your team was playing, but you would have to forego the race so you could travel to the venue and get there in time, which would you do?

7. Favorite Super Bowl junk food?

8. Are you going to a Super Bowl party, or do you prefer to watch at home, so you are not distracted by long descriptions of Aunt Millie's latest surgery?

9. Who would you select for the halftime show if you could pick anyone you wanted?

10. Best commercial ever?

1. Do you care who wins - if so, tell us who you want to win? Yes, the Pats. They were never much when I was a kid and went to many a "Boston" Patriots game with my Dad. I even went to opening day at what was then called "Schaefer" stadium in Foxboro.

2. Any score predictions? Feel free to provide other prognostications, number of sacks, any wardrobe malfunctions, etc. 31-27

Nope. Maybe if it was in Atlanta and I could win them.

4. For all football fans: Best Super Bowl ever was:__? If you are not a football fan, just respond with your favorite sporting event (like when the Cubs won the World Series that time back in 1908). Red Sox winning the World Series in 2005.

5. Who is the best QB in the NFL? Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady. Peyton is he wasn't hurt.

6. If you trained for 18 weeks for a marathon, and the night before the marathon you were offered tickets to a championship event and your team was playing, but you would have to forego the race so you could travel to the venue and get there in time, which would you do? Run the marathon.

7. Favorite Super Bowl junk food? Doritos - only time I ever eat them.

8. Are you going to a Super Bowl party, or do you prefer to watch at home, so you are not distracted by long descriptions of Aunt Millie's latest surgery? Going to friends for dinner who are not football fans, but we will still watch as they know I am a fan.

9. Who would you select for the halftime show if you could pick anyone you wanted? Bring Bruce back.

10. Best commercial ever? It's a toss up between Mean Joe Green and the Budweiser one where the Dalmation trains the Clydesdale to the Rocky theme music. I also remember an E-trade one before the babies where they had some guys and a monkey making music in a garage and they said something like "We just wasted $2 million, what about you?" Classic and funny.

1. Do you care who wins - if so, tell us who you want to win?
Not really, I just hope it is a good game

2. Any score predictions? Feel free to provide other prognostications, number of sacks, any wardrobe malfunctions, etc.
Pats 34, Giants 27

I wouldn't do any of it, especially the way the NFL acted this offseason. I would travel just about anywhere and pay way too much to see the Hokies play a national championship game. Lucky for me, I don't think I'll ever have to face that decision Evil or Very Mad

4. For all football fans: Best Super Bowl ever was:__? If you are not a football fan, just respond with your favorite sporting event (like when the Cubs won the World Series that time back in 1908).
Superbowl - Steelers over Arizona
World Series - last year - Cards. Still amazed by that one...

5. Who is the best QB in the NFL?
Roethlisberger (Steelers) fan, but I would have to say Brady

6. If you trained for 18 weeks for a marathon, and the night before the marathon you were offered tickets to a championship event and your team was playing, but you would have to forego the race so you could travel to the venue and get there in time, which would you do?
With my luck, if I'm healthy, I'm running the marathon unless God almighty personally asked me to sit next to him during the game...

7. Favorite Super Bowl junk food?
Pigs in a blanket or chicken wings...

8. Are you going to a Super Bowl party, or do you prefer to watch at home, so you are not distracted by long descriptions of Aunt Millie's latest surgery?
No party - starts to late on the East coast and my son has school the next day. I would gladly listen to Aunt Millie if I had family in town though!

9. Who would you select for the halftime show if you could pick anyone you wanted?
Halftime shows suck. Maybe a good college marching band if anything...

10. Best commercial ever?
Bud Wise Errr

Worst commercial ever - I still have no idea WTF this one was about =

1. Do you care who wins - if so, tell us who you want to win?
I don't care - I am a Bears fan in Connecticut, surrounded by millions of Patriots and Giants fans, and it will be fun to watch some of them in jubilation, and the rest of them in agony!

2. Any score predictions? Feel free to provide other prognostications, number of sacks, any wardrobe malfunctions, etc.
I have no clue whatsoever in this one, though the Giants all seem cocky and the Patriots all seem edgy. Given that it's indoors and the Pats offense is so good, I guess I have to go with them.

No way. He's crazy. I've grown less interested in being at the event over the years, and would prefer to avoid the insanity of the crowd and just watch it in HD! I would drive a few hours if I had great seats, but I wouldn't pay all that much for them...

4. For all football fans: Best Super Bowl ever was:__? If you are not a football fan, just respond with your favorite sporting event (like when the Cubs won the World Series that time back in 1908).
Super Bowl XX!!! Da Bears!

5. Who is the best QB in the NFL?
I hate that Rodgers guy, but he had an awesome 1 year + (including end of last year).

6. If you trained for 18 weeks for a marathon, and the night before the marathon you were offered tickets to a championship event and your team was playing, but you would have to forego the race so you could travel to the venue and get there in time, which would you do?
I'd run the marathon, too. Would have worked too hard at that point to give that up.

7. Favorite Super Bowl junk food?
Wings!

8. Are you going to a Super Bowl party, or do you prefer to watch at home, so you are not distracted by long descriptions of Aunt Millie's latest surgery?
I think I am watching from home. I will probably do what I did three years ago, and make a bunch of junky party food and tell the kids it's our big party!

9. Who would you select for the halftime show if you could pick anyone you wanted?
Elvis Costello

10. Best commercial ever?
Dunno. I am enjoying everyone else's choices, because I tend to almost immediately forget them.

1. Do you care who wins - if so, tell us who you want to win?

No, I was just proud of myself for knowing what teams were playing.

2. Any score predictions? Feel free to provide other prognostications, number of sacks, any wardrobe malfunctions, etc.

none

3. Would you drive 12+ hours, stay in a hotel 45 miles away, and buy scalped tickets for thousands of dollars, all to be at the game instead of watching it on tv? The Giants fan whose office is next to mine is doing just that! What's the farthest you would drive and most you would pay to see your team play in the game?

haha, no, I won't even drive 3 miles to watch the Cornhuskers play football (then again, that's probably a smart choice).

4. For all football fans: Best Super Bowl ever was:__? If you are not a football fan, just respond with your favorite sporting event (like when the Cubs won the World Series that time back in 1908).

Ice skating winter Olympics 1994?

5. Who is the best QB in the NFL?

no idea

6. If you trained for 18 weeks for a marathon, and the night before the marathon you were offered tickets to a championship event and your team was playing, but you would have to forego the race so you could travel to the venue and get there in time, which would you do?

Run my marathon.

7. Favorite Super Bowl junk food?

spinach dip.

8. Are you going to a Super Bowl party, or do you prefer to watch at home, so you are not distracted by long descriptions of Aunt Millie's latest surgery?

I care about Aunt Millie, but I think we'll be staying home with 12" of snow all around us regardless, doing some freezer cooking and finding out about the game on Monday.

9. Who would you select for the halftime show if you could pick anyone you wanted?

no idea....I am terrible at this thread.

1. Do you care who wins - if so, tell us who you want to win?

I'm a Redskin fan that grew up in New England so I'm anti-Giants and neutral-to-positive on the Pats so GO PATS!

2. Any score predictions? Feel free to provide other prognostications, number of sacks, any wardrobe malfunctions, etc.

The Pats D can't stop anyone. And I don't think the Giants D can stop Brady. I think it will be a 70+ point game.

Years ago, I would entertain all kinds of ideas on this front but these days I'd have to get an all expenses paid trip with a seat in a luxury box to break me away from my preferred mode of sititng with family and friends in front of a big screen HD TV with tons of food.

4. For all football fans: Best Super Bowl ever was:__? If you are not a football fan, just respond with your favorite sporting event (like when the Cubs won the World Series that time back in 1908).

That one where Tennessee was driving on the last play of the game and St. Louis tackled the guy inches short of the goal line was amazing. Years before that, I remember a classic San Fran drive led by Montana. But my all time favorite game and moment was John Riggins taking the ball and running left on 4th and Inches against Miami and taking it to the house. I had this picture up in my office for years:

Super Bowl Thread Riggin11

5. Who is the best QB in the NFL?

PEYTON MANNING. Look at how bad the Colts did without him. The Colts should trade Luck for a ton and win a couple of more with Peyton.

6. If you trained for 18 weeks for a marathon, and the night before the marathon you were offered tickets to a championship event and your team was playing, but you would have to forego the race so you could travel to the venue and get there in time, which would you do?

If it was the Red Sox in the world series, I think I'd have to go to the game and just do some other race. There are races every weekend so its not a big deal to forego one.

7. Favorite Super Bowl junk food?

Hmmm.....wings seems like it should be the answer but I don't know that I really love wings anymore. Chips and dips. 3+ different types of chips and at least as many varieties of dips!

8. Are you going to a Super Bowl party, or do you prefer to watch at home, so you are not distracted by long descriptions of Aunt Millie's latest surgery?

We are going to my brother's so it is a mini-party but just family.

9. Who would you select for the halftime show if you could pick anyone you wanted?

I'd like to see Blink182 play.

10. Best commercial ever?

That crazy Apple one that channelled Orwell's 1984 and was only shown that one time. Very Apple. Very cool.

I asked my wife who she would like to see play at halftime and she said Coldplay which is a pretty good answer too. Here's a crazy thing....I got the new Blink182 album and I really like it and have a bunch of those songs now on the running iPod....but....I like the Angels & Airwaves Love 1&2 album MORE! Feels wrong to say that as a Blink182 fan but I like the side band stuff more! But you should check it out if you haven't already. Some awesome running songs.

Back on Super Bowl topic, I'm calling 49-35 New England and its not even that close with New England having a 3 TD lead most of the game.

1. Do you care who wins - if so, tell us who you want to win?
I prefer to see the Giants lose more than anything. But I do like the Pats, so go Pats.

2. Any score predictions? Feel free to provide other prognostications, number of sacks, any wardrobe malfunctions, etc.
NE 28, NY 10

I really like the Bears but that is further than I'd go. Maybe 4-5 hours and I guess $500/ticket. Isn't that what they cost anyway?

4. For all football fans: Best Super Bowl ever was:__? If you are not a football fan, just respond with your favorite sporting event (like when the Cubs won the World Series that time back in 1908).
Of course, when the Bears won, 1985. But even better than that was when the White Sox won the World Series!

5. Who is the best QB in the NFL?
Tom Brady. Results count.

6. If you trained for 18 weeks for a marathon, and the night before the marathon you were offered tickets to a championship event and your team was playing, but you would have to forego the race so you could travel to the venue and get there in time, which would you do?
I probably would, as there would most likely be another marathon a week or two later to get in. Championships don't come all that often in this area.

7. Favorite Super Bowl junk food?
Boneless chicken wings

8. Are you going to a Super Bowl party, or do you prefer to watch at home, so you are not distracted by long descriptions of Aunt Millie's latest surgery?
Actually will be on a golf trip so I think we'll go to a restaurant/bar to watch.

9. Who would you select for the halftime show if you could pick anyone you wanted?
Carrie Underwood

10. Best commercial ever?
Was the Apple commercial from the SUper Bowl? That was great.

1. Do you care who wins - if so, tell us who you want to win?

Since most Mainers are Pats fans, I will go with the crowd. I don't want grumpy guffs on Monday.

2. Any score predictions? Feel free to provide other prognostications, number of sacks, any wardrobe malfunctions, etc.

27-20 with two Brady sacks, 1 Manning interception, no wardrobe malfunctions, and only 2 decent commercials per hour; oh yeah, more points for Melo than Eli Manning. If Gronk cannot run full speed, NE will have a very tough time.

Nope, I went to one as a kid and didn't pay anything for it. Of course, my team also gave up 9 turnovers.

4. For all football fans: Best Super Bowl ever was:__? If you are not a football fan, just respond with your favorite sporting event (like when the Cubs won the World Series that time back in 1908).

Heart--Denver win against the Packers. Mind--Pats-NJG part One
As a kid, Dolphins win over the Redskins

5. Who is the best QB in the NFL?
Scientifically, Drew Brees and it's not even close. Sports Science did a spot on him. Most accurate QB ever. If he had a defense, they would have won 4 SB's by now.

6. If you trained for 18 weeks for a marathon, and the night before the marathon you were offered tickets to a championship event and your team was playing, but you would have to forego the race so you could travel to the venue and get there in time, which would you do?

Absotively, Heck I even went to a YMCA auction and spent 2.5 hours on my feet the night before a very rainy marathon last year.

7. Favorite Super Bowl junk food? Wings and double chunk chocolate brownies

8. Are you going to a Super Bowl party, or do you prefer to watch at home, so you are not distracted by long descriptions of Aunt Millie's latest surgery?

Home is just fine here on the East coast, but party on the West Coast.

9. Who would you select for the halftime show if you could pick anyone you wanted? Hmmm, tough choice! Dave-O and his Bears Wu Tang Clan doing a super bowl shuffle, or Cirque du Soleil performing its act to the tunes of a wonderful group of high school marching band kids.

Jerry: Lucy, which team do you think will win Super Bowl?
Lucy: New York Giant.
Jerry: Why?
Lucy: I don't really care. But if I have to pick, I guess I will support an American team.

1. Do you care who wins - if so, tell us who you want to win?

I didn't care who won, I was hoping for a competitive game and it did not disappoint.

2. Any score predictions? Feel free to provide other prognostications, number of sacks, any wardrobe malfunctions, etc.

I thought that the Giants would win based on their defense and how it played the past month or two. I was surprised at how well the Patriots defense played, guess Belichek a defensive guy, it was no accident. In a close game, I thought that Eli would lead a comeback and he did. Of course, this is after the fact now.

I would enjoy attending a Super Bowl one time in my lifetime. If I don't get to, not a big deal but it would be fun.

4. For all football fans: Best Super Bowl ever was:__? If you are not a football fan, just respond with your favorite sporting event (like when the Cubs won the World Series that time back in 1908).

Yesterday's game was one of the best, there have been several close finishes in the past decade.

5. Who is the best QB in the NFL?

Right now Rodgers and Brees are the best. However, Eli is now the best big game qb based on his resume IMO.

6. If you trained for 18 weeks for a marathon, and the night before the marathon you were offered tickets to a championship event and your team was playing, but you would have to forego the race so you could travel to the venue and get there in time, which would you do?

If they were Super Bowl tickets and they were reasonably priced (not likely) I would go to the game. I could take my training and run another race the next week if I really felt compelled to.

7. Favorite Super Bowl junk food?

I suppose chips and dip.

8. Are you going to a Super Bowl party, or do you prefer to watch at home, so you are not distracted by long descriptions of Aunt Millie's latest surgery?

Usually watch it at home with the family.

9. Who would you select for the halftime show if you could pick anyone you wanted?

The groups I would pick are not family friendly, thus they would not be chosen.

10. Best commercial ever?

Cat herding commercial is the best. No doubt.
