Sorry to hear about this. One thing as mentioned you don't have the "uncertainty" in your mind. You know the problem, you are now working the solution and in that we can find peace.

You may be quite surprised that when you do come back you will eventually be in better shape then when you left.

Well, John it seems like you're taking it about as well as one could hope for with this kind of injury. If it hasn't been suggested already and you would like to commiserate with another runner who went through this, send a PM to stephenbarryfreedman - he dealt with something very similar more than a year ago. Keep your chin up!
