Arny Johnson (not Dave-O report)

Today was a 10 mile race I did to sub for a 10mi pace run I had sceduled for Thursday. It was a benefit race for Habitat called the Arny Johnson 10 miler and 5K. I did the 10 miler along with Dave-O who should have a interesting report. Long story short, the pace run flew out the window after mile three as I felt good with the perfect weather cool breeze and high 50's. The course was a start at a local high school onto a bike path into a State forest road loop and back. It was relatively hilly and scenic, a beautiful course. As I said after mile 3 that was slow I decided to up the pace and started passing a group of about 6 runners who evidently started to fast. I caught the 1st female and kind of hung with her for a couple miles until she slowed. The uphills felt fine, probably since I was running a lot steeper stuff in California this week. Rocked the downhills and negative split this one. Ended in 19th overall, 4th in 50-54 w/ 1:08:25. Feeling good about Boston right now!

That course, especially through Rock Cut, is hillier than Boston. If you thought it was easy, then you are ready to crush Boston. Just go in with a plan and execute baby!
