Re: Happy Father's Day!
Happy Father's Day! I hope all you dads have a great day and if you have a dad, that you can remember to call him and thank him. I know it's a hard job and none of us have perfect fathers but most of them work pretty hard to do the best for their families.
I ran 17 to celebrate that it was Sunday morning....

I won the father's day 15 miler from my house. I was the only competitor! This is a pseudo father's day - as my wife is pregnant with our first! Happy father's day to all the other fathers!

Re: Happy Father's Day!
Thanks Kenny. I ran six today. It was my first run in 6 weeks! After I decided I would have to bail out of Vermont in early May due to the PF, I figured it would make sense to take time off and try to get over it. I also got sick (again!) with a bad cold/cough/congestion, and it wouldn't go away for a couple of weeks. I still have it now a little bit!
Anyway, it felt great to run on a beautiful (warm, but not humid) mid-day here. Still, the heel hurts somewhat afterwards, which makes me wonder how long this will go on. I think I'm going to try to train through it and start training for Newport in the fall (maybe sign up for the full, and reserve the right to run the half instead, if I can't train at full freight due to ongoing heel problems). We shall see.

Ran 15.4. Cooking crimini mushroom risotto for Dan (my father - yes, I refer to him by his first name, and yes, most people find it strange) as we speak.
He actually ran today, too. First time in months.

Pancakes to start the day, then ran 13.1 with a friend. Then a family walk in the park (with Rocco getting HIS running in) and ice cream.
That was followed by a trip to the gym with Billy to run 2 more miles with him, and then he and I did upper body strength training together (his first time). Then he got 6 pool laps in for good measure.
Then a terrific meal of salmon and acoutrements, Deb's specialty (she's not just meatballs!), followed by Family Movie Night.
Can't ask for a better, fuller day than that! Thanks, Deb, Billy and Rocco!

Re: Happy Father's Day!
No running for me today, but after visiting a relative in the hospital this morning, spent the rest of the day fishing with the kids, crashing for an afternoon nap, then wrapping the evening up with a barbecue and enjoying watching the kids swim the night away.
