I agree with you on this, but it does not make what he did right.

If you're Lance? You'd say: "I'm sorry."

And then not give it another thought.

I was kind of hoping that he'd go all the way and start painting the whole picture... not just limit it to what he did. He knows how it worked and who was involved... and I do believe there were people in high positions who had an interest in Lance winning, and not getting busted. Lance could tear the house down... but he won't.

I think that he will, as a way to limit the criminal punishment he may face. Just not in this interview...

Yep, wouldn't surprise me if he kept that info in his pocket just in case he ends up needing it to avoid any serious prosecution. I did enjoy his dancing around the statute of limitations with the no cheating after 2005 stuff though.

So, he wants to be able to compete...and the others that admitted only a got 6 months ban. For christ's sake Lance, you made your own bed when you denied everything....when you fought everything...now you need to accept your punishment and take the life ban...

"Yes, son, I took PEDs during my time on the tour. It was wrong but I justified it at the time because everyone on the tour was taking the same drugs, I am most sorry for lying to you about it, but I had to to avoid going to jail. See, the UCI, WADA, USADA, and the French all wanted to nail me, the best rider on the tour, more than anyone. They wanted me, not the other 199 riders in the event, to be the poster boy for the disgraced PED user. I understand why they did so - since I was the most outspoken about my claims of being clean - but when I was solo'd out, I felt backed into a corner and became defensive. It's my nature. I never meant to harm you or have you come in the middle of this. But I also wanted to be here for you."

I'm not a parent so my skills are probably off. Of all the issues with athletes and fatherhood, though, I don't think Lance really put his son in harm's way.

Dave, you were acually pretty close, outside of him actually saying that he was sorry.

Late on this, but Lance gets stripped of the bronze while the convicted dopper and admitted dopper that got Gold and Silver get to keep theirs. Yeah ok.

Having said that I don't believe he was sincere at all with his apology. He wants to run Ironman and trying to think how to get resinstated.
