Garmin 610 strap fell off
I know I've seen something about this before. This morning I put my 610 on and reached for something and it popped off. The pin didn't come out, the ears on the strap just popped off the pin. I know I've been wearing it 1 hole tighter recently because I hate when it flops around. But when I put the strap back on and pull slightly, I see that the ears spread and it would likely pop off again. So I wore it loose again today with no issues.
Has anyone found a good fix for this? I may call Garmin Monday and see what they say.

Re: Garmin 610 strap fell off
Hey Tim, you're right -- there was a thread on this as the pins often release from the original strap in many of the Garmin Forerunners beyond 205 and 305. Same thing happened to me with a refurbished 405 unit I got a few months ago. So I got the Garmin Forerunner wrist strap kit and I'll never look back. It's a fabric band with a velcro closure and it works a treat. If you go this route, make sure the kit you get is for the 610. You'll be pleased with it -- I sure am pleased with mine.

I second Kevin's post. Every Garmin I've had has had the band break and I've replaced with their replacement brand. Almost seems like it's a planned thing from them.

Re: Garmin 610 strap fell off
I used to love the fabric strap with velcro closure on my old 301. It allowed me to adjust the strap very easily while running if I needed to. I really do despise my current 610 strap but so far the pins have stayed put. We'll see how long that lasts as I wrestle with it every time I put it on. Ugh

I'll have to keep this in mind although so far my 610 strap has stayed put. I do love Garmin customer service though as they sent me a new charger free when my crapped out without even skipping a beat.

Can't argue with that. I love their support.
