Re: Chicago Runners
I hate posting goals but here goes along with the appropriate caveat:
Michael Young - realistically 3:04-3:09 > hamstring injury took a lot out of me and lost a month of training from mid-August. However, I'm going to set up my pace to shoot for a 2:59:59 with a small negative split and hope that my prior base holds me through. Really worried about bonking if I go out too fast, but I've always been an optimist. We'll see if that target is too agressive.
Chelsea Young - 2:54 > she's in the ADP (sub-elite) going for that first sub 3:00 time. Is in great shape. Dad won't accept any excuses from her. ha.
Trevor Young - realistically 3:07 - 3:15 > was getting in good shape and was going to go for a sub 3, but strained his calf on his last tempo run. Hasn't run more than 3 miles in the past two weeks. So your guess is a good as mine there. Not sure how much conditioning he lost. That's a big taper, but hell, he's only 25 yrs old.
I will have an interesting race report afterwards, regardless of the results with my wife doing her first - just trying to avoid the sweepers, my 21 yr old doing her first (guessing 4:20) and my 17 yr old doing her second, will probably be keeping her mom company. Sweeper can only scoop up one at a time. I figure Chelsea, Trevor and I will have 4 hours between when we finish and they do. Hopefully I'm sober enough still to cheer them on at the end.

Re: Chicago Runners
7467 - my PF is limiting my goal. It's gotten better from all the self treatment but it's clearly still there so that could have a big impact with a shorter/changed stride. Before that, my goal was a 3:35-3:39 which I'll try to start off at.

Congrats to everybody.
I see Julio is still out on the course. I hope he didn't exceed his 3-beer goal by too much..

Congratulations to all the finishers. I can't help feeling Dave-O's pain. Those last few miles must have felt awful, but he kept going.

Re: Chicago Runners
Saw Michael on the course, he apparently missed getting in the A corral and started in the E corral. Pretty great for him having to zig zag at the beginning. Got to talk to him in the finish shoot. Yes I bled a bunch of time at the end with an on coming side stitch at 21. Rallied a bit and was able to finish half way respectable, my second best, but damn it hurt like hey! Congrats everyone, thanks for tracking, too!
