Bob, if you would like to continue to summarize the upcoming races here I would gladly give you a sticky thread at the top that you can update or add to at your leisure. Just let me know!

Thanks Matt. If everyone here wants me to maintain a race calendar list, I'd be happy to. Perhaps the stickied thread will show the entire calendar of races and people doing them, and people can post replies to it when they want to be added to the list.

I like that. Want me to go through and create an entry for all of the upcoming races so far, or do you want to do that? All of the races should be in the calendar and a thread for each race should be posted in the Calendar Events forum. Just let me know!

Matt, I can just copy and paste the existing calendar I have over at TP, and we can build from there.

Check out our calendar in the menu. It allows members to create entries for their races, and automatically creates a new post in the Calendar Events forum. If you cross check your list against the calendar, you might find more races. Just a thought.

We have found that pasting from an Excel spreadsheet using IE produces and exact duplicate - including font, background, borders and possibly even links (not sure on this last). But doing the same from Firefox, Opera or Chrome does not (not sure about Safari). So it's browser-specific (like many other boards) with IE yielding the most satisfactory results.

Bob & Matt, you guys may be talking past each other, I don't know. Bob now has a list of races he maintains and would like to post that list here -- not make independent entries into a calendar that might automatically make a new thread for each entry in another sub-forum ... Honestly, the tied calendar system is not yet smooth. We've got duplicate entries and I'm not convinced that the tied system is any more useful than a simple list. But that may be just me. Until we gain some facility with it, I think it would make a lot of sense for Bob to post (by simply pasting using IE and see if the formatting is satisfactory) the list he already maintains here.

I wasn't suggesting that Bob make any entries in the calendar. Bob's list is from TPs and more races have probably already been entered here. I was suggesting that a review of our calendar might show races not on Bob's list. If so, those could easily be added to Bob's list. Once Bob's summary list is 'synched', the Calendar Events forum can be monitored for 'new posts'. If a new post is a race event, we add it to Bob's summary list in the Karma Koordinates thread.

Pretty simple to me.

Hope Bob's spreadsheet list posts perfectly -- Internet Explorer offers the best prospects (unfortunately as I love to hate M$).

If we were having communication issues, it would be my fault. But I think we are ok here.

And Kevin, thanks for the suggestion to use IE. I've only tried this forum with Firefox. If IE works for posting Excel sheets, hopefully it will work just as well for copying and pasting from a .html document that is opened with IE to the forum here. I'll try on Monday.

Seems no matter what I try, it keeps wanting to left justify my pasted items.

Ahh, I got it to center the text.

But it won't copy/paste as is from my original document. Suggestions?

Well, Bob ... apparently this editor interprets tabs in an html document as a carriage return. I've tried several substitutes for 'tab' in an html doc, but none seem to take. So, I put the equivalent info in a spreadsheet and cut-n-paste (using IE, Firefox, Chrome and Opera). None were satisfactory. Some columns hold, others do not. When columns don't hold info is placed in the first column of the next line. And there's no easy fix using fixed width fonts either. Here's how this weekend's update would look if cut-n-pasted from Excel using IE:

Thanks Kevin for going through all that trouble. The same issues exist over at the TP forum. I tried working with Gear and Matt at TP, and their best solution was to paste the file, then manually edit it each time once it is pasted. Again, I appreciate your efforts, thank you.
