Chicago Marathon Implements Lottery Entry

I figured that this race would come to this, but also the first that I have seen of this with the Chicago Marathon.  Just too many people to handle...garauntee entry and lottery.

Houston changed back from lottery to first come, first serve.  They opened up registration two hours after the end of last Sunday's race to next year's races and sold the target of 10,000 entries total for the half and full by their target day of last Thursday.  There are guaranteed entries, but selling out the rest of the 27,000 total field opens in early June.  

But for both Chicago and Houston, I'd reserve hotel rooms soon.

inevitable.  interesting there is only one qualifying time.  Definitely gives advantage to the younger folks.

I agree with you and was surprised to see that, as well.
