Re: The Top Five Albums That I Like
Hmm, interesting question. I'm going to avoid Greatest Hits, because I consider those to be collections and not albums. So I guess the frame of reference is "what albums could I sit down and listen to, in their entirety, over and over again?" I dont know that this is exhaustive, but off the top of my head:
5) Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime : showed me how music can really tell a story, and do it well
4) Toad the Wet Sprocket - Pale : haunting and beautiful
3) 10,000 Maniacs - Blind Man's Zoo : I dont know that there was a more beautiful voice than Natalie Merchant's
2) Alice in Chains - Dirt : Changed everything for me
1) The Afghan Whigs - Gentlemen : I could just loop this, 24 hours a day, and be happy. Amazing story of love and torture and pain.

Re: The Top Five Albums That I Like
Ah, way too many to choose from and my taste are far too eclectic. In no particular order:
Live at Jimmy's - Maynard Ferguson
The Planets - Gustav Holtz
Madame Butterfly - Puccini
Abby Road - Beatles
Marc Cohn - Marc Cohn
Let It Roll - Little Feat
Listen to the Music - 3 Fox Drive
Horse of a Different Color - Big & Rich
I gotta stop or this will go into the hundreds. Rock, country, classical -- love it all.
