Yep it's true. I'm done with competitive racing. I'll still run but it's time to be a fun runner and run when I want to, not because I have to...walking away 100% happy. But I'll be a lot happier if my team medals at Lexington...
So did Lexington turn into a medal?
Why yes it did! We knew it would be close but we ended up on the podium in 3rd behind CalCoast and your Club Northwest.
Congrats, Dave. However, I bet you wished you could of watched the finish of that race. To see Malcolm just blow by Fred Kaiser in the end was awesome. I'm proud to know them both and wish I could have been there.

Nice finish in Kentucky!
You guys that run XC are a tough group. Good luck in your retirement from racing. Just come back by next fall to erase any names off any 2013 records.

Did you run a 8% uphill or what? When Jerry was a sub 3 marathoner, Jerry ran sub 18 5k.

To be honest - can't quite figure it out. It was colder 35F and drizzly. A tad windy and relatively flat. Had a bit of a chest cold. Haven't done any speedwork since R2B marathon on Oct 27th, although I did run a 10k on Thanksgiving. Averaging only about 40 mpw. Lot's of recent travel and work. I was surprised not to be below 19:00. But so be it. I won't obsess over it, it's only one run, but blzing speed is not my stength.

The First of 2013?
Chris Coleman
Age: 66
Date: 10 January 2013
Event: Zayed Sports City 5K, Abu Dhabi
Time: 20:50 gun, 20:47 chip
First race for three months. Still recovering from iliopsoas injury, but pain level now acceptable. The time should be improvable, but I'm really more interested in 10K and HM.

Getting there:
Michael Young
Age 56
Freeze Your Franny 5k
Jan 26, 2013
18:56 PR - first time below 19:00, however to Jerry's point, I really should be about 30 seconds faster for that distance. Oh well. It is what it is.

Tell Jerry that if it was Age Graded - you beat him by 30 sec.

Two more, though I'm not sure if you adjust 8K to 5mi according to pace or just discard it.

Great job Chris! I'm just noting when the race is an 8k for now and if we have a 5 mile time that is close we can determine how to deal with it. Perhaps we could convert the 8k to a 5mile time?
Gun time only! I kid

This was the hardest fought PR I've had with a massive headwind on the second half on this lakefront out and back.
