2012 plans
Jumping the gun for some, but since I am done this year with races, time to start penciling in plans for 2012.
Looks like Napa is a 50/50 at this point (March).
Julie and I are hoping to go to Europe in SEPT or OCT if it is still there. NOT doing Athens I guess! Perhaps Venice, Marathon Medoc or Turin and then if we just stay in UK/IRE then Dublin or Liverpool. There is also the Beirut, Lebanon marathon, but I may as well do Athens, right?
And if Europe falls through or ceases to exists, then maybe Canada somewhere, or who knows what...
Any exciting plans for you all?

Re: 2012 plans
I don't know about exciting, but I'm already planning for 2012 as well.
I'm looking at the Canyonlands Half Marathon in March if I get in through the lottery.
I will be doing the Bolder Boulder 10K again at the end of May.
I will run the USAF again, but I'm not sure of distance. I will likely do the half as the MCM is my goal race for 2012.
I will run the Marine Corps Marathon at the end of October.
I'm not sure what I will finish the year with, or what other events I add, but those are my pillars for next year.

Re: 2012 plans
Half Marathon or 15k in Florida during the kids' break?
May 2012 Sugarloaf Marathon
June 2012 Mt. Washington race and Half marathon here in Augusta
August 2012 Beach to Beacon 10k
Fall Marathon TBA (If I have to stay on the Coast, maybe the Cape Cod or another Portland, Maine Marathon. If I can travel, anything is possible.)
I also start training for Boston 2013 and Comrades 2013 during the fall of 2012.

Re: 2012 plans
Well, nothing specific, but I'm toying with the idea of a 50k or even a 50-miler next year.
The 50k might be the Forest Park 50K in late May.
Or (if I was feeling totally crazy), it might be the Beacon Rock 50k in mid-June...
Either would be good training for the Mount Hood 50 Miler in late July.
And it's possible, in theory at least, that I might consider running the Eugene Marathon in May as a training run (especially if there are fellow 365ers there...) and maybe a return to the California International Marathon (as a relay? or more? hm).
I could do some of those, all of those, or none at all... I'll just have to see how it goes.
Plans are a lot less stressful (and binding) when you're just toying with the ideas. Cheaper, too.

Re: 2012 plans
I'm not quite done for the year - have a half-marathon a week on Sunday, as my legs have been feeling good enough since Loch Ness to make me feel that a half PR is a possibility...
Only one race inked in for next year at this point - the Edinburgh Marathon at the end of May. I'm not sure at this point if I want to try for two spring marathons (if I go this way, the other is very likely to be Lochaber in mid-April, which would give me six weeks between the two) or if I want to run a few shorter races in the run-up to Edinburgh.
I don't have any plans for the second half of the year at this point - based on past experience, this is probably a good thing (as I have a history of only being able to put together a few months of training before the injury bug bites...) Health permitting, Loch Ness is definitely an option after this year's positive experience - there's also the possibility of going a bit further afield and running another marathon in the US, seven years after my first.

Napa - March 2012.
Beyond that nothing definite. Probably a fall marathon, but there are two or three possibilities: Outer Banks, Twin Cities, St. George.

Re: 2012 plans
After my eff'd up foot heals,... for some stupid reason, I'm thinking about running a marathon next Fall. Race plans so far are: Texas Independence Relay in March, (what is wrong with me????) Indy Mini HM in May, Bayshore HM Brewfest in May, and if I run a marathon it will probably be Chicago because it sure as hell can't be hot again next year. Probably ditch the 5K Nat Champs if I run Chicago, Maybe run the 15K Champs in Buffalo Labor Day weekend.
That's all assuming this pain in my foot is gone by the time I get back from vacation next week...If it's a stress fracture (xrays Oct 27th) I'll be out for a while. Hell, maybe I'll retire from from running.....

Re: 2012 plans
I am thinking 100 marathon in 50 weeks! logistically it sounds hard.
Usually I have my 2012 plan sort of sketched out by now but it all depends on how I do in Philly.
Tentative bigger races
Feb. Cherry tree 10 mile (3rd year running it) becoming my favorite race
March Napa Valley Marathon - if I can swing the vacation time as a fun run
Maybe:
HM maybe in April
Marathon Nov or 50 mile race using marathons as training runs.
Ill know more after Philly!

Re: 2012 plans
Still undecided, other than the USATF Cross-country champs in St. Louis in February. There's a good chance I might take last place.
Re: 2012 plans
Boston.
Yosemite custom marathon (starting at Tuolomne, going over Clouds Rest, up Half Dome, down to Happy Isles).
Enjoy summer and hibernate fall, as per usual.
