Running Pays!
My company had a Biggest Loser contest last year, and to allow everyone to participate, they had both a weight loss portion and an exercise related portion. The team I was on lost the second most "weight" in combined pounds lost and miles logged. I came in 2nd overall in the company in total miles logged for the year. The result: I got $1,000 for the 2nd place team finish and $625 for the 2nd place miles finish. That cash will come in handy in Dublin on St. Patrick's day!

Our company had a similar contest. All I got was a lousy T shirt.

Re: Running Pays!
congrats! I got a free jacket once for running 100 miles (in a summer, it was kind of pathetic but I was running about 50 miles/week so it didn't take too long).

Nice job, Jim! You can use it in Dublin, or to pay Dave-O for another round of coaching!

That's a pretty nice payday for something that you already do for other reasons. Gotta love it.

SECOND in miles logged?
You're lucky you're coming back from an injury, or I would not be happy with this statement.

Well, in my defense, the guy did average about 75 a week for the year. He's a guy who works in the warehouse and has no wife and kids. In other words, 8 hours of work a day, no travel, and no distractions. Plus, I'm pretty sure he doesn't ever race other than an occasional 5K.

So now you're saying that anyone averaging 75 or more miles a week essentially has no life???
Here, let me grab you a shovel to continue digging that hole...
