Tell us something good
Our weather in KC is exceptional for this time of year. Highs in the mid 50s today and mid 60s tomorrow. Nothing but love to the weather Gods...

This is golden season of Texas running as well, except Jerry is quite lazy these days.

What about Chicharito? Is he lazy, too?

Re: Tell us something good
It has been mild here in Madison, as well. I am glad to report that my lawn is brown, due to the lack of snow The lack of the white flakes of death have allowed me to get outside during the week, even though it is dark out. Our temps have been consistently in the upper 30s to low 40s the last couple of weeks. That is a large improvement over the single digit to low 20s highs that we normally experience.

Re: Tell us something good
Our weather has been perfect for running in the ATL as well. It is very strange to only have had one day with temps below 30F in the morning and most with morning temps in the low 40s. No snow, no sleet, no ice - lot's of rain, but I'll take the rain as we still need it for drought recovery.
My MN running friend tells me that a mile winter means a mile summer, and I so do hope that is true. Last year we had a cold, icy, and snowy winter (for Atlanta), and our summer started in April and was pretty brutal.
It was weird to watch the MN Wild game the other day and have them show the parking lot in St. Paul with the only snow being that from the Zamboni!
On another good note, I think St. Joseph has done his job and we sold the house. Keep your fingers crossed with inspections and such.

Re: Tell us something good
Houston has good weather today and the past couple of days. Two-thirds of February temps have been 'normal' and for the year we've had 11 inches of rain, almost half of what we got for all of last year.

I had to be at work at 6:00 this morning. The positive: I'll be out in plenty of time to get a run in while it's both light and relatively warm. It's 50 and sunny in St. Louis right now.

Re: Tell us something good
This is my first time trying out high mileage training. I just did my first 75 mile week recently and I'm on track for 80 this week. My plan is to do only six workouts of 15, 15, 10, 15, 15, 10. Halfway there as of this morning. Yes, the good ATL weather is helping.

Good news: Packer stock is still available!
Even better news: Canadians can purchase too!

I've been getting the jogging stroller out more which is good because then I don't have to get up at 4:45 to run on still-icy streets.

After a month of 30-minute sessions on the treadmill after wiping out my foot late last year, I did six miles on Sunday... and nothing hurt.

Chicharito only reminds me if I worked my soccer skill like running in the past 7 years, I would be qualified to play in division A instead of F in the adult amateur league?

The average temp here in Chicago is 11.6 degrees higher this winter. Makes running doubles and 25 + mile runs a bit more enjoyable.

Re: Tell us something good
I didn't get shot while running through the ghetto in Washington DC, so there's a start.
I finally got to run with Aileen - last time I was injured and the knee flared up a mile in.
I'm actually feeling like a runner again lately.

Re: Tell us something good
Current temp is 51F and climbing into the mid-60s. It's February.
Shorts and a short sleeve shirt... and 8 miles to go. It's a great, great day!

Beautiful weather here, too!
After taking some time away from racing (but not running), I'm feeling the itch again. I think that's something good!

Re: Tell us something good
I did a full marathon as a training run on Sunday and it was kind of fun. Plus it technically became my first ever negative split 1st half to 2nd half. It turns out running a lot slower is much easier....I guess we all already knew that, though! But I enjoyed it far more than logging 20+ out there on the roads alone. PERFECT running temps (for me) that day too....38-40 degrees, no sun, little wind. Ah, I would empty the bank account to BUY that kind of weather for a marathon I'm racing if I could!

Re: Tell us something good
I spoke too soon about the weather, as we are now under a winter storm watch for a storm that may bring 3-6 inches of the white flakes of death
But on a much happier note I put together my base training schedule and my marathon training schedule for this year.

It's all warm here in Indy as well. High 50's today and we've seen sun almost every day this week.

Another good jogging stroller run today and with most of our snow melted I should be able to join my early morning group tomorrow.
