Taxes paid today... Empty Taxes paid today...

Post  Admin Fri Apr 13, 2012 11:32 pm

In celebration of Friday the 13th, I went ahead and mailed my tax forms. It was a tough tax day... largest total tax payment I've ever had. It wasn't a surprise, but writing checks that large (federal + 2 states) is hard to do.

Uncle Sam, please spend the money wisely. Thank you.

Ditto here - and I had to pay three states - Ohio, Georgia and California!!! Never wrote a check to the Federal Gov't or to anyone for that matter, that large. I agree, Matt - they had better spend it wisely or I might really think about my political positions come November.

I've had mine done since February 7th. I don't like the government sitting on my money...

We paid ours awhile ago, I would have waited until today but my husband wanted to just get it done. Better to owe a bit than get a big refund!

Had my done since late February but had the gov't auto debit my account on April 17, the official due date for 2011 taxes. Don't want them having my money any longer than that.

Mailed mine yesterday. It was the first time I ever had to pay - I always get some kind of refund.
I did a bunch of school presentations last year and did not send in quarterly payments on them.
Totally my fault. At least I did not have to pay a penalty.

Ditto on having to pay the largest amount ever. Ouch.

First time we've had to pay instead of getting a refund in years. Can't complain much, though. It means we have an extra income, and we didn't have thousands of dollars in deductible medical expenses.

Strange. Last year Britt and I had to make a prettty large payment. This year, despite making only slightly less, we get an even larger check back.

I owe my accountant (who was married on Friday, yes the 13th) a beer.

Downside to that: lack of income to have to pay taxes on!
