Re: Your Week in Training April 30 - May 6
Tame as compared to Kevin. Actually had sun poisoning on Sunday after/during my tennis match (it was 98F on the court). Not sure what caused it, but I still have some of the rash. Paid for it on Monday.
Mon - 3.5 miles Couldn't go further, still feeling dizzy and nauseous
Tues - Day off
Wed - 5.2 miles. Ran in the early am (before the sun came up) and felt normal again.
Thurs - 6 mile tempo run
Fri - 11 miles in a rain storm Longest run since Boston
Sat - 5 easy miles with Peachtree Training Group. Recovery pace.
Sun - 5.1 miles (5K with a friend and her 12 yr old daughter in 26 min; then 2 more easy miles with my friend)
WTD: 35.8 YTD:763

Re: Your Week in Training April 30 - May 6
An interesting week to say the least
Mon - 4 mile GA to my daughter's track meet and saw her set a 6th grade record of 2:54 in the 800 > second time running it > then rushed to the airport and off to Phoenix for a golf tournament
Tue - 7 mile w/ 8 strides at Desert Mtn > 3500 altitude and a whole bunch of up and down
Wed - 9 w/ 8 strides > there is nothing flat out here
Thu - off
Fri - 10 mile w/ 7x800 @ 5k -- oh God was this a killer 80 degrees, a whole lot of uphill for 4 of the intervals -- ugh
Sat - 6 mile trail run on a new trail -- started at 3300 ft, went up to 4500 - ran/walked a couple of loops -- Running back down the hill and I thought I heard a rattle - ran back to my wife and friends who were walking to warn them -- sure enough we walked the 100 or so yards back and a 3 ft rattler came slithering out onto the trail. He was really taking his time too. Cool -- got a couple of pics too.
Sun -- hungover big time - flew home and ran 5 recovery -- was supposed to be a 16 mile LSD two weeks out from my maybe marathon 5 wks after BOS -- oh well, such is life.
Every day in AZ -- high in low 90s, low in high 60s. With the golf, eating, drinking, running and heat, I need another month of recovery.
