I am so sorry that you missed your goal by such a narrow amount, but you got a huge PR! Give yourself a couple of weeks to recover mentally and physically and I know that you will want to attempt a BQ again!

A little update on how things are going. I had a little general soreness in my quads and hips Monday and Tuesday that has progressively gone away and is barely there today. I am still taking the entire week off from running, though I will be In Las Vegas Saturday through Monday, so I will not get back into running until Tuesday. Definitely will be a mind refresher as much as a muscle refresher. After that, I will contemplate what I want to do in the near future...

11.14.12 -

My first run since the marathon 1.5 weeks ago. Just an easy three miles without a watch. I went out and just ran nice and easy by feel. It felt really good to get back to running. I will probably not run again until Saturday, as I allow my legs to recover fully before working on winter maintenance.

So sorry you just missed your BQ Nick, but be proud of what you have accomplished over this last training period. As others have said, and I'm sure you realize, it's there for your taking whenever you think you're ready to give it another shot.

4 miles...My second run since my marathon, almost two weeks ago, and I am still killing it. I completed 4.27 miles at a 7:09 pace... At some point, I will have to end this blog and start a new one, but I am not ready for that yet...Plus, I gotta get ready to go to the game. Wisconsin is taking on Ohio State today. Let's go BUCKY!!!!

Damn, you need a race to slay. Seems like you are recovering perfectly, but do be careful. And even though I really have no allegiance - I live in Ohio - so Go Bucks!

Sounds like you're recovering really well. I hope you find a good spring race.

So last week on got in four good days of running, and needless to say, I think that I am pretty well recovered from race day. Now, it is time to think about the future. In doing so, I am closing this blog, because it is all about the past. I will open up a new one that focuses on the future and more importantly the immediate future. Thanks everyone for taking the journey with me over the last 5+ months...
