There was a little bit towards the end, but nothing too large or close.

I seriously don't worry about the lightning. Then I told my daughter I didn't want to be remembered killed that way.

8 miles...After a nice, and much needed off day, I headed out this morning for an 8 miler. Great run this morning as I just let my legs go free and easy. I ended up finishing 8.55 miles at a very easy and efficient 7:44 pace. Tomorrow I have a stepback LSD 12 miler...

Well looks like things are going along the right track for that quest for that BQ.

Well sometimes the best things in life are "elusive" and part of the fine is casing after them! Keep plugging away and you will catch it!

12 mile LSD...Finally run of my second stepback week. Twelve easy miles on a realtively cool day incomparison to how it has been the last month. Even though it was cooler, the humidity was extremely high, as it had rain just before I headed out for my run. Like I said, a very easy and pretty effortless 12 miles. I completed 12.41 miles at a 7:53 pace with an almost anemic average heart rate of 136 My heart rate was the lowest that it has been all training cycle. I attribute that to getting into better running shape and the fact that the lbs continue to melt away. I am already within an arms reach of my race weight and still have 15 weeks to go until my goal race. The upcoming week is going to be my greatest challenge for the cycle to date. I will conduct my first ever doubles on tuesday and thursday and hit 19 miles for my long run. All of this will push my mileage over 50 for the first time in the cycle. But, after looking at my results today, I think that I will be in a good postion to have a great week of running.
Weekly Total - 39.96

4 miles...Up early this morning to get in the first of my runs scheduled for today. This is the first time that I have incorporated doubles into my training. I took Mr. McKee's advice and just tried to put the miles in without much effort being expelled. I completed 4.11 miles at an absurd 8:50 pace. This evening I will head out for my second run of the day. A 6 miler to put my daily total at 10 miles.

Nice job on your runs recently. I agree with Chris on the doubles, don't worry about pace, just get the miles in.

6 miles...Run #2 on the day. For my second run of the day, I tried to control my pace like my morning run...But unlike my morning run, I couldn't keep as slow a pace. I think the reason is the longer distance. Although my pace was faster than this morning, I was still able to keep it slow. I completed a total of 6.30 miles at an 8:18 pace...We'll see how the doubles affect the rest of my week (9 tomorrow and another double on Thursday).

9 miles...Nine miles coming off a double day. My legs felt surprisingly well, but the 100 degree heat did not. I decided to take it easy and not try to over do it. Plus, I consumed a boatload of water. I completed 9.22 miles at a sweaty 7:54 pace. Another double tomorrow...

4 miles...Run #1 of the day, a 4 miler. The most difficult runs for mae are the ones when I need to run slow (i.e. recovery runs). Chris had recommended leaving my watch at home, but I think that I need my watch more than ever on the slow runs. My Garmin allows me to see my pace and helps to slow me down. I was able to throttle it down this morning to the tune of an 8:42 pace ove 4.26 miles. 6 more miles tonight after work...

6 miles...run #2 on the day. I could definitely tell that the mileage and doubles have had an affect on me. My legs felt a little tired all day at work and when I started my run, I knew that they were not at their peak form. I completed a nice and easy 6.24 miles at a sluggish 8:21 pace. A much needed off day is up next...
