Change of Schedule

Post  Kenny B. on Fri Oct 26, 2012 10:05 am

I was scheduled this week to do the following:

Friday - 11 miles 5-7 @ LT (6:50)
Sat - recovery 5 miles
Sun 20-24 (thinking time on my feet maybe 3hrs 14min)

Then I go into taper

But, I was unsure of Hurricane Sandy on Sunday so I thought I'd get my LSD run in on Saturday with better weather.

So today (Friday) I did 10 miles w/7 @ MP 7:23 (I felt great with no issues)

Question will be tomorrows time on my feet after a tough run is beneficial? I read in another post some of you guys/gals use a pace run followed by long run as a good predictor.

Thoughts on this.

Of cause do the LSD Saturday. The real question is if Sunday is calm and cool, what do you do, 5 recovery or another 20?

I thought of that as well. Sunday will be 5 recovery!

You will be fine, Kenny - good plan. Last year for NY and Boston, I did this often and it helped me tremendously. If the weather holds, then a nice slow and easy 5 on Sunday would be perfect.
