The Kokomo Highway Half Marathon report
My last "exciting" race report for a very long time. Probably no events until the April 2014 Indiana Trail 100. I deleted by blog because there will be nothing to talk about - just getting back to training and building up to April. It was nice seeing Dot and she is a SKINNY gal now!
Re: The Kokomo Highway Half Marathon report
Weird about the blister, Charles. That's too bad.
Neat idea of doing a true "one and done" race on a section of highway that's about to open. Clever!
Sorry you deleted your blog. Make sure to keep us apprised on your big build-up for April!

Thanks for the report, Charles, and I, too, am sorry that you deleted your blog. There will be another, right??/
Re: The Kokomo Highway Half Marathon report
Maybe - since I am not going to do anything but train, I am not sure there will be anything to report. Just run - walk - run - nap - repeat.

I like that plan Just don't be a stranger to letting us know how you are doing.charles.moman wrote:Maybe - since I am not going to do anything but train, I am not sure there will be anything to report. Just run - walk - run - nap - repeat.

OK. You did a slow half marathon on concrete. How come you manage to make the whole thing sound so interesting that I played the video twice? (I always seem to play your videos twice!)
Any chance of some more interviews to compensate for loss of the blog?
PS: Sorry about the blister, but glad it wasn't one of your ultras.

Nothing to report? Heck, when has that stopped the rest of us from blogging?
Er, um...

I liked the video report, Charles. Running on cement is not fun and I don't think it's something we ever get used to.

Yeah, I had blisters in my Brooks Pure Flows on the concrete in the half I did in Sept. Must be a trend. I'll have to try that blister shield cause I really like the shoes otherwise. Hope your future training goes well.

Ah, yes...memories! You definitely described the race correctly. Tough on that concrete.
Now I see on FB that you might be doing St. Pat 24 hr....now, I'm looking forward to not only your new blog but another 'exciting' race report video!

Your video was charming! What a cool way to do your race reports. Congrats on the half! I agree, concrete is just really unforgiving, and it's tough if you never run on it. Good luck with the 100 mile in the spring and the training for it. And yes, blisters are no fun.

Re: The Kokomo Highway Half Marathon report
Thanks. Actually, the best race reports are the ones with my wife, Susie!
You can see several on my YouTube channel.
We have been to races where people come over to see Susie, not me!
