Natalie - that's just bad metal/thrash/hardcore. Tell your daughter to check out Avenged Sevenfold.

I've heard one Bruno Mars song. I understand he is insanely popular right now, but that one song was incredibly stupid.

Metallica - before the black album
Anthrax - before the lead singer switch
Black Sabbath - with randy rhodes
Cinderella was pop music and Dave Mustaine's voice is horrible. I loved the Metallica story where they were looking for a replacement bass player and les claypool tried out and they decided he was too good for them. It was true.

Ok, so Nick hates on the Lovely lady humps and lumps, is not into Fireworks, hates on pretty So Cal girls, and dislikes the most awesome live Grammy performance ever by a former gymnast(Glitter in the Air). Hmmmmmm. Must be a Bieber fan.

Ahh you say that to a major Megadeth fan. That is cool, I respect that. Umm, I maybe way out there, but Randy Rhodes was never in Black Sabbath. He was in Quiet Riot and then with Ozzy....

My top 5 favorite songs would probably land on all of your worst 5 list, so I'm not even going to attempt to make my worst list!
But, just a comment. Ebony and Ivory was Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder, and I never cared for that song too much....although I love Paul.

you are right, Rhoads joined Ozzy after he left BS. Interesting note, though I am not responsible, Rhoads last show before he was killed was in Knoxville, 10 minutes from where I grew up. His next show was to be in Orlando, 10 minutes from where I live now.

That's my first runner up list. The top 5 are in a post above that one and it includes Gaga and Bieber.

What about Paul and MJ? That was a great duo.

Or how about songs that you only like with the video but not when you hear it by itself? OWL City's Fireflies comes to mind. I love the video but grew tired of the one hit wonder of a song.
One hit wonder? I actually enjoy that entire CD and look forward to his next. Not as good as Postal Service, but similar style.

My daughter recently graduated from horrible screaming metal (Escape the Fate I think is one example), to groups like Avenged Sevenfold, although I think she may have actually moved on from that already.
As for worst songs ever, Natalie ended the discussion for me with "Having My Baby". I can't think of anything worse than that. This one may be a close second:

In no particular order:
Limp Bizkit - Nookie
Creed - Higher
Nickelback - How you remind me
Black Eyed Peas - Boom Boom Pow
Avril Lavigne - Girlfriend
Best unintentionally awesome song.

Re: Five Worst Songs Of All Time
I listen to Gaga when I'm forced onto the treadmill. And quite a bit when I'm driving. Perry I listened to my senior year in college. Can't help the fact that it makes me feel upbeat.
And hating on Slipknot and Limp Bizkit now, too?! Man, you guys are trying to crush my adolescence.

The second CD isn't as good, but I truly love Vanilla Twilight. He played in Atlanta before we left and my daughter and I went.

1. "I love you." Barney.
2. "I love you." Barney.
3. "I love you." Barney.
4. "I love you." Barney.
5. "I love you." Barney.
If the list went long enough (does it go beyond infinity?), you could take "Backpack" by Dora the Explorer.

Re: Five Worst Songs Of All Time
There is just too much bad music to cut the list down to 5 songs. I mean really, you have to include anything recorded by Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, covered by the cast of Glee, anything from a TV band like Big Time Rush, Jonas Bros., that punk from Canada Justin Beiber, etc...
But if I had to pick 5, it would be the five most played songs by my oldest girl right now.
1. Jessie's Girl - Glee Cast
2. Edge of Glory - Lady GaGa
3. The City is Ours - Big Time Rush
4. Girlfriend - Avril Lavigne
5. We R Who We R - Ke$ha

I think Ke$ha was assumed. No need to put it in print.

Re: Five Worst Songs Of All Time
Two songs that come to my mind when I think of songs I absolutely can't stand from generally good bands are Smashing Pumpkins - 1979 and Stone Temple Pilots - Crush. Both songs just bore me to death, and if I have to list to Billy Corigan whiney little voice, at least give me some good tempo behind the song.
Ugh.
Ugh.

Sorry Mike, I was with you until the screaming started. I just don't understand why anyone would want to ruin a perfectly good voice!
And man, hating on Gaga and Perry? Makes me sad...
I agree here... I like them both (and so does Rolling Stone).
