Wisconsin area suggestions please!
My wife and I are dropping off my daughter at Ohare to fly to Russia with her friend for 2 weeks so we decided to take this temporary empty nest situation to take a short camping/bicycling trip to Wisconsin. My neighbor suggested the Apostle Islands or that area near the U.P. boarder. The only draw back would be that it's an 8 hour drive and we are heading back Friday. We are just going to wing it sort of and would like some suggestions for good secluded camp areas, great dining spots and road bike areas. We know of some great mountain biking spots and may rent, but are taking road bikes. Thanks ahead of time for any suggestions.

How about looking into Devil's Lake or the Old Ice Age trail.
Devil's lake is just North of Madison and the Ice Age trail goes through Madison also and goes to Milwaukee.

Thanks, Yeah we've been to Devil's Lake and really love it. Kind of looking to a new area for us. Thanks for that Ice age trail link. That trail goes all over the state, interesting! Hey Nick, noticed you are in Madison. My daughter lives there and neice is moving there to get her masters. Really love the extensive bike path system there.

Yes, Madison is a very bike friendly city. Which, in turn, makes it a very runner friendly city, too
