Stupid question of the week

What do you do when your running or dress socks get holes in them? Darn them like in the Waltons/Green Valley days or toss them?
I guess I should throw in the MacGyver duct tape option.

donate them to the homeless shelter and then they get $$ for recycling them (but check with yours first. Ours does.)

My wife hates the fact that I wear ALL clothes, socks included, too long.

When a sock gets a hole, I tend to throw that one out and put the other in a pile. Then as it happens to another pair, I extend the life of the good socks.

I usually lose one in the laundry before I get holes in them. Have a whole basket of unmatched socks. Might make a good halloween costume.
