Admittedly my response was a bit tongue in cheek, since 1. this is not Twitter and 2. who's going to type the :'s (or the @, really) when you can settle with just the name? Either way, I guess we can use them to be really obnoxious, right
Re: Friday Thread
1. What is your favorite beginning of a race that you've done?
NYC Marathon. Not my favorite marathon, but the start is tough to beat.
2. If we could get a professional runner to join the boards, who would you choose?
edit: I changed my answer from Kara to Scott Jurek. He's a really interesting guy who would hopefully have a lot to add.
3. If we could get a celebrity to join the boards, who would it be?
O.J. Simpson...man could he run through those airports.
4. How long will it take Dave or Tim to catch Schuey's post total?
I'm guessing it won't happen.
6. What happened to #5?
It hasn't discovered the new forum (it's obviously not on Facebook).
7.
You get an all expenses paid trip to spend one season (summer, winter,
spring, fall) on a continent other than North America. You have to run
at least 10 races while you are there. Where do you go?
I'd pick Europe, just because of the many different countries (most of which I've never visited). Finding races in the various countries would be a heck of an adventure.
8. What's the farthest you've driven to run a race?
NY to Baltimore...about 5 hours
9. Who will be the next person to join from that other site?
I'm hoping to see Rhondda here soon.
10. What's your favorite emoticon?
I'm going to have to find a reason to use the Egyptian.

I met Scott in Boulder, CO a couple of weeks ago. We talked about Brooks. Anyway, I don't know him well enough to ask.

1. What is your favorite beginning of a race that you've done?
Not sure if this worked. Let me test it.
Yup, it worked. A little large but so what? No rules, right?
Anyway, start of the 2009 Corporate Challenge race in Boston Common. 'Cause a co-worker got this pic of me pretending to be a bad ass runner like Schuey.
2. If we could get a professional runner to join the boards, who would you choose?
Usain Bolt
3. If we could get a celebrity to join the boards, who would it be?
Matt Damon. Seems like a good guy, and I like all of his movies.
4. How long will it take Dave or Tim to catch Schuey's post total?
Schuey is SUPPOSED to be "busy" at night. At some point Lisa will remember, too, and they'll both have to turn their Mac Books off.
6. What happened to #5?
Wonder how many people got this reference?
7. You get an all expenses paid trip to spend one season (summer, winter, spring, fall) on a continent other than North America. You have to run at least 10 races while you are there. Where do you go?
Europe, unquestionably. And yes, Greg, Australia is both a continent and a country. Some of the others, not so much.
8. What's the farthest you've driven to run a race?
Not far - two hours maybe?
9. Who will be the next person to join from that other site?
Enmo (Michael Enright)

Martin, judging by your avatar, I'm guessing that really was only your favorite START of a race.

Nah, I look like that at the end of every short race. Sort of a trademark.
Here's my favorite END of a race

No offense taken. You can also see a guy in blue in the first few frames that gave up before the guy in orange.
I'm too old. And too big. To be a runner.
If they had a national class for old big guys, I'd be Olympic caliber.

Thanks for thinking of me VW, but by the time you predicted that, it had already happened!
You look pretty serious at the start - I think I tend to look worried!
