Yeah!!!!!!!!!!! You have lots of time until then, Vivian. I've marked my calendar and will be hoping to hitch that ride.

Yep no doubt that we will pick you up Michele. Once I know I'm in for sure I will let you know our final plans on when we plan on leaving and etc.. I would like to get to there by Thursday this year to give a day before the race since it is a Saturday race. I have already cleared our stay with the Chris and family for that Thursday night and for Saturday evening also. I think it would be best to stay in Hagerstown the night before the race since it is a day 10 min. drive vs. the hour to 1 1/2 hour drive from Chris's house. Will talk soon and sure up our plans together.

Just let me know. I can certainly stay at hotels rather than bother Chris too much - no issue. I am excited and my husband said it was a cool idea - just can't convince him that he needs to come and we can caravan (but that idea is not a wild one).

Nonsense. You are more than welcome at our house. Unfortunately, it is a bit far from the race site itself so Schuey's idea about staying up there on the night before the race is a good one. But Vienna, Virginia is THE place to be before and after. Just be be forewarned that a very eager golden retriever will maul you at every opportunity.

No problem - love dogs and they love me. I'm good. Just let me know about the hotel at the race site - maybe we can get a group rate.

I think the best bet again will be the Clarion where the race packet pick-up is at. We stayed there last year and it was fine for the day before. Only a 10 min. drive to the H.S. and then another 5 min. jog down to the start line. If you like I will try to book the rooms this weekend?

Re: Registered for JFK-50 today. Boom.
So today I received my letter " Your entry into the 50th Annual JFK 50 Mile to be held on November 17, 2012 has been ACCEPTED."
Well now it's time to wait to see if I got a seed bid number this year, not that it really matters but it would be cool!
So did anyone else get their acceptance letter for JFK today??

Re: Registered for JFK-50 today. Boom.
might be too late to register, but am intrigued. Never run anything more than a marathon. Only run a few trails for fun up to 10 or 11 miles. Is this too ambitious for a first ultra/trail? Second question - is 3 weeks after another marathon (Ridge to Bridge) enough to recover and run it?
