Sat07 pace65°F Glorious morning ... no rain! ... yet ...
Sun22 long70°F Well, with a marathon in 2 weeks, I simply had to go long!*

* No canned music could ever top the motivational impact from live call & response [Rwenge] of a military fitness group in the road. I circled back and joined them for a few steps. Exhilarating. I'll have to carry a digital recorder in future so that I can share the audio with you.

Mon-7 easy
Tues-off
Wed-aborted speed workout, ended up with 4 easy miles
Thur-10 hilly miles @ 7:57
Fri-off
Sat-5 recovery (then walked who knows how far thru the zoo)
Sun-14 miserable miles @ 8:10 or so; legs were shot from Thursday and the zoo apparently

Got a little more ambitious this week.

Mon: 2.2 mile lunchtime walk
Tue: 2.1 mile lunchtime walk
Wed: 9.1 mile run on hilly trails
Thu: 4.3 mile barefoot run on dry asphalt
Fri: 4.9 mile low HR run
Sat: Rest
Sun: 8.25 mile low HR run

Week: 26.4 miles running (4.3 of them barefoot); 4.3 miles walking

Sun: .75 warmup + 13.2 pacing the OC half marathon. 1:58 and change, about 1 minute too fast. Fun though.
Tues: 5.4
Wed: 5.9
Thurs: 6.0
Sat: 10.1 on dirt trails

Week: 41.35 - 1st time over 40 in a while. Felt great.

Wed - 8 w/ 8 strides
Thu - 9 w/ 3x1 mile @ 5k (ouch - found it hard)
Fri - 5 recovery
Sat - 6 recovery w/ 8 strides
Sun - 13

45 mpw

Still debating whether to run Midland next Sunday. Will wait til Wed to decide based on the weather forecast. I have never run marathons so close together - only 5 wks since Bos. My aim is to PR, but I never ran a run more than 13 miles since BOS, but have been averaging more than 40/wk. We shall see.

Mon- 6 total speedwork done as 6 x 400
Tues-off due to a surgical procedure
Wed-5 easy miles
Thur-12 miles - 1st 6 @ 8:55 pace; next 4 @ 8:40 pace and last 2 @ 8:30
Fri-4 recovery miles in Boston
Sat-6.3 miles around the Esplanade in Boston. Glorious morning
Sun- Day off, after all it was Mother's Day

Week-33.3 YTD - 795

The next three weeks will be interesting with graduation and then the subsequent move to Cleveland. We will see what I get in!
