Daymilestype
Mon08 easy49°F
Tue-- Not a good time to take three days off. But it's prudent. So I do so.
Wed-- Proprioception, strength and core work each day.
Thu--
Fri14 67°F Back on the trail again.
Sat--
Sun20 race60°F 5 up, Army Ten Miler (ATM) 72:09 (7:13/mile), 5 down.
Week42
YTD1,763

Perfect weather for the ATM ... imperfect training. But, given the hand I've been dealt, stepping back when necessary [and suffering a consequent loss of aerobic fitness] is the right thing to do.

And since we had perfect weather here ... Nick had it at Steamtown too ... just sayin'

And Steamtown's results aren't on their website, last I checked, but I hope Nick checks in soon.

Getting over my cold this week

M - rest
T 6
W 6.5
R 9.5
F 1 (with jogging stroller then realized 20 mph winds and stroller don't mix)
S 10.5
Sun 10.5

44 week, 1598 year.

Not training for anything right now, just trying to maintain whatever base I can for the next event.

Week 12 of training for Philly:

Tuesday: Easy 7 miles (9:04/mile)
Wednesday: 8 miles with 1 x 16 min and 1 x 8 min. both intervals between HM and 10k pace
Friday: 20 miles with 9 at or below MP (around 7:40-7:45/mile)
Sunday: 8 easy miles (8:52/mile)

Total 43 miles....not a bad week considering I missed a day or running due to other commitments.

M - 5 am; 4 pm
T - 8 x 800. 11 miles total
W - 15
Th - 12. At this point I was thinking I would go for 90 this week. By 3 pm at work I had pain shooting/radiating down my right shin bone.
F - Off
S - Off
S - 17. R calf was tight and bunching during run. But got through it and realize I need to pay attention to the little things more. Not the big mileage

I've shuffled my running days around, so this schedule looks a little weird. Still, it's the move I've run since the Eugene Marathon back in May. I'm starting to build the long trail miles in preparation for Tecumseh in December.

Mon: Hilly trail: 13.1 miles
Tue: Rest
Wed: Rest
Thu: 6 miles easy
Fri: 4 miles hilly
Sat: Rest
Sun: 8 miles easy

Week: 31.1

Mark, it's already caught on over here.

2 runs and a bike ride this week.

I almost feel human again and actually... wait for it... WANT to run.

Tue - road, 5 miles, 46 min
Thu - road (in the morning, even), 4.5 miles, 42 minutes.
Fri - TM, 5 miles, 44 min
Sat - road, 5 miles in the rain, 44 min
Sun - road, 7 miles in the driving rain, 1:02:00

Total - 26.5 miles (21.5 on the road) in a needed step back week. I don't know whose weather we got, but it certainly wasn't Florida weather. 9 inches of rain over the weekend without a single lightning bolt or thunderclap. Weird, but it felt good.
