Re: Redemption: 2013 Hamilton Road2Hope Marathon
Here is one on my favorite photos from the Madison Mini Marathon that I paced a friend of mine in a few weeks ago. I didn't even know that I stick my tongue out when I run

You're way more organized than I am. I still need a rental car and a hotel for Friday night. (We'll drive to Hamilton on Saturday morning.) I do have my flights and hotel in Hamilton for Sat and Sun.Nick Morris wrote:Just putting the finishing touches on my travel arrangements for November, as I got my rental car booked.

Very impressed with your training...especially in the heat! You're going to be very well prepared.

10 miles... Fairly late night, means running a little tired this morning. My body felt tired for the first couple of miles, but my legs felt ready to go. After about three miles, everything started to wake up and the pace began to pick up. I ended up running 10.32 miles at a 7:44 pace. Good run, considering the elements
Now it is off to tailgate for the first Badger Game Day of the year!!! Go Bucky!!!!

Nice run and nice pic - you were probably concentrating or something.

20 miles...Calves were a little tight this morning after all of the standing and walking yesterday, but they loosened up after a while. The worst part of the run this morning was the overcast skies, 69 degrees, and 90% humidity. That was a recipe for sweat!! I ended up finishing very sweat, but at an 8:01 pace for the 20.11 miles. One tough week down and an even tougher one next week. Although the heat is supposed to break this evening and it is supposed to be cooler this week.

3 miles recovery + weight training...Got in a good 3 mile recovery run before heading to the gym for weight training. Not a bad Labor Day if I say so myself I completed 3.11 miles at an 8:26 recovery pace.

7 miles...Up early this morning for my 7 mile run. A little chilly this morning, as it was in the upper 40s with a little fog (although it was hard to see the fog in the dark). Good run this morning and it felt good not to sweat as much as normal. It actually felt a little bit like a fall run. I completed 7.27 miles at a 7:32 pace.

Reminds me of my old early morning headlamp runs a few years ago. I don't think I'm willing to do those any more - too dangerous on our roads. Stay safe!

Dark and foggy sounds like an October run, not September. After a long summer, it also sounds kind if appealing.
Do you use a headlamp or other light out there? Be safe!

No worries...I have a tail light and head light. I also use the sidewalks and bike paths, so not a lot of traffic to maneuver around. Thanks!!Mark B wrote:Dark and foggy sounds like an October run, not September. After a long summer, it also sounds kind if appealing.

loving the hints of fall, although it's depressing to think about winter being just after. At least you're getting a break from the heat. I think we have fairly similar weather although just down to the 50s last night.

4 miles...Quickly got in my second run of the day this afternoon after work. It definitely was a quick 4 miles, too. I got in 4.17 miles at a 7:09 pace (almost MP). I actually couldn't believe how fast I was going until I looked down at my watch at mile 1. I'll take it!!

8 miles...Up early again to get in my morning run. Beautiful morning for a run, with the temps in the lower 50s and a fairly low humidity. It was a nice calm run, as the world awoke around me. I completed 8.26 miles at a 7:49 pace.

3 miles...Went for a run during my lunch today. Run #2 of the day...It's the first time that I have ever ran during my work lunch. Got in a quick 3.12 miles at a 7:31 pace. So, about 11.5 miles for the day

Off day...Last night was a late night and I was dragging a little bit today, so I decided to switch tonight's run with tomorrow's off day. Up early to run before work. Should be fun

11 miles...Up early and out the door by 5:00am. That means that the first hour of my run was completed before the sun came up. Cool, but a little humid this morning, so the sweat glands were working pretty well. I wanted to keep the pace pretty easy, as I ken that I have got 33-34 miles scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. I ended up completing 11.26 miles at a nice 7:51 pace. Still on pace to break 70 miles for the week.

13 miles...I got a later start than I wanted to this morning and because of that, the temps were already in the 70s. Coming off of a mid week that saw me push almost 40 miles, I figured that I was in for a rough one. Quite the contrary...My legs had surprising life to them and I knew I was in for a good run when the first two miles were under a 7:50 pace each. I forgot that today was Badger Game Day, so once I made it down to Camp Randall I had to traverse through the sea of red tailgaters. I ended up pounding out 13.29 miles at an astonishing 7:37 pace. MY HR was a t a very decent 141. A great run if I do say so myself. Especially considering that the temps were over 80 at the finish and I had the most midweek miles on my legs this training cycle, to date. To top things off, I am only 6 pounds from my race weight with two months to go. The pieces are falling together and just one more run tomorrow (20 miles) to top off a very good week. Life is good!!!

Bucky had a pretty easy day.
What's your theory on blasting out 2 runs this long back to back?
